Update 2.1.7 released

Post by OXO » Thu Sep 02, 2021 9:45 am

Released today is update 2.1.7

The main change is the addition of a JSON output from Spectate! to give extra data for the live streaming of eSports Sailplane Grand Prix. Of course this feature can be used in other competitions too.

We took the opportunity to address some other issues;

- Plastic.dds alpha channel removed
- SGS1-26 index changed to 63
- Moved the DG1000S to School class
- Special Ventus3-18RCN.c3d for SGP. It's available on Condor Club and is for use with the SGP Ventus 3 skins.
- EB29 pilot material corrected
- Min altitude bug fixed
- ASG29 added more drag in flaps L
- Logbook numbering bug fixed

New Update method

Post by congo » Thu Sep 02, 2021 10:35 am

The update includes a file checker to determine if a valid Condor2 installation exists.
If we try to install to an empty "Condor2" folder, the installation now fails.
Now we cannot isolate the new file versions compared to the old ones.

This is bad news for Condor2 modders who rely on being able to isolate the new files
by installing them to a temporary Condor2 folder for cross checking file compatibility
and file versions against modded files, artwork, etc.

It checks for the existence of condor2.exe.

This is because we are having an increasing number of users who install the patch instead of the full version file from their account, and then it doesnt work of course because most of it is missing.

You can still install to a different drive. I have an installation for online flying on my C drive and an installation for modding on my E drive.

It a small change to move the tail number for SGP so they dont overlap their special skins they made.

It will be there soon. BOD1 is on the job !

The file Ventus3-18RCN.c3d is available on Condor Club, at last!
To get a better display of the competition number on the Ventus3-18 tail using SGP skin, download the file available at https://condor.club/i/tmp/Ventus3-18RCN.c3d and save it in the Condor subdirectory \Planes\Ventus3-18 (usually located in C:\Condor2).

Thanks wickid, yeah, I have similar backup folders for Condor, it's just less files to sift through if I can examine patch only updates.
It's not normally required to go through everything, but if I lose track of what's what...... omg!

Thanks OXO, I'll try it with a copy of the .exe in an empty folder, that should work then,
