Condor is just like installing any other software. It’s not complicate at all.

It's actually a very succinct and to the point software. All the information you need to know is in a few menus, setting up a flight. You typically fly a task with waypoints just like real life but you can just set the start/finish at the same airfield and fly freely if you want. FSX is more complicated in comparison.

And we're a friendly bunch so don't feel afraid to ask any questions. There is also a search function on this site that can be used as many questions have been asked over the years.

Welcome to the world of Condor and the new challenge of soaring

Thanks everyone. Feel a bit more confidant now!! One other thing! I am in line for a new computer within the next month. Any tips on what to look for, regarding what hardware to go for?
Thanks again. Appreciate it

Condor is very light software so even a non-gaming computer will do fine in it. But you need a dedicated graphics card otherwise you will run out of video memory (ortho landscapes are pretty heavy on textures). There's a big shortage on graphics cards at the moment due to COVID and cryptocurrency mining demand so it might be best to wait for prices to stabilize.

This is a good bunch of builds for good performance gaming pc's at different price ranges. You can assemble the parts yourself without too much trouble and skip the extra cost of buying a prebuilt pc if you know what you're doing. It's not hard and there are many tutorials online for pc building.

If your computer run FSX at a decent level then it will have no issues with Condor.

List the specs of your current PC for us and we'll let you know if it's man enough.

Big thing to remember with Condor is the Landscape files can be huge! Depending how many different sceneries you'd like installed at any one point in time determines the drive size you need. I do like to run my Condor install from one location however with Windows 10 you can install Condor on your main partition and then the landscapes on another drive and use Condor Updater to create the required links for Condor to see where the landscapes are installed.

For me as well you really do want a stick and rudder pedals. Using auto-rudder just isn't the same.

One point to consider is whether you intend to use VR or not.

If not, an Nvidia GEFORCE 1050Ti graphics board is good enough (~100 FPS on landscapes that are not cluttered with 3D objects, most of them actually, including the most popular ones like AA2)

If yes, you need a more powerful GB (1070 or more recent). Take a look at the requirements for VR systems.

If you take a look at the benchmark site which is in the system requirements page, the GTX 650 is above the minimum requirements (G3D Mark= 1758), so it should work, but you might have to decrease some graphical settings to have a fluid display
