silver badge distance on Jura sildist.ftr

Post by David Broadhurst DPB » Wed Nov 11, 2020 5:39 pm

I have submitted this but had it rejected. Can I ask why? I flew to the target airfield having not stopped anywhere. Your software shows I did not start the task. How?What is a regatta start? On being waved off by the tug I did a circle within the start area and climbed a thousand feet or so in that area before starting towards the target.

Read the text here. You have to make a screenshot of the base of the startpole while in the start sector. Old style turnpoint photos!

Took photographs of start area. I do not see any sort of marker. There is no message acknowledging start. Also photographed destination airfield whilst on downwind leg. Consequently, again, I have not completed the task!!!
Do these photographs embed in the .ftr file? If not, how is proof of flight verified as they are, apparently, required as part of the evidence that the task has been completed.

Be sure to go trough a No PDA tutorial before you attempt again

OK looked at tutorial on Vimeo and still have questions. There is no PDA on display in the K8 when attempting a Silver badge flight so no need to disable it. Where are these marker poles to photograph on the start or at any turnpoints? Do they have to be turned on? if so, where?

I think it was the J key. Keys are described in the online manual.

Thanks. The “J” key turns on the marker posts?
Can you show a link to online manual please. Assuming that you don’t mean the Condor 2 help

Thank you to the various people who have helped. I feel that the use of "J" for turning the helpers on could be made more explicit in the briefing notes for this task. However, nice to have achieved Silver C virtual.
