Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
Re: Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
People who fly in Imperial/Australian units should have altitude data entry in Imperial Units - feet. This will greatly facilitate task creation. I would like to see this improvement in Condor
Re: Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
I concur with the suggestion that task planning units (or wherever else units appear) be consistent with the unit selection in setup.

Agreed. I suspect Condor doesn’t have the penetration in the North American market that it should and taking steps to accommodate standards used outside of metric only countries seems a small step to encourage growth.

Another vote for consistent units. We're not "metrically challenged" in Canada, much of life happens in kg and m, but the altimeters in our 15m gliders are calibrated in feet, ATC talks to us in feet, and it would be great to be able to set up tasks in feet. +1

+10 from me. Makes sense. I am sure most Europeans would prefer not to work with a mixed environment of Imperial and Metric measurements. Personally I am happy in either, but definitely prefer not to have to mix them.
Re: Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
Is there any chance of getting this done in 2021? For most of COVID 2020's spring I ran a task a day (until real socially-distanced flying began). Now winter's here, there is interest to do it again, but I'm doing a task a week.
I'd like the altitude units in the task planner, start and finish height and the height of the waypoints, to be in feet for those who select Imperial or Australian units.
When I select Imperial or Australian, I see feet in the Weather Tabs (Thermal heights). Feet in the lower left of the task picture window. Knots for wind. Tow heights in NOTAM in feet, and so on. The task planner properties tab, metres.
I like Condor, but the task planning for North American-flown tasks is a PITA because of this. Please!

I agree, metric is fine in Europe, but in North America we fly in feet.. As the commercial aviation..
Please make it match our settings..

Same in the UK, we also fly in Feet and Knots.

I agree and strongly support the change.

Hear Hear. While Canada is supposed to be Metric, we are somewhat inconsistent in it. We're really somewhat dual system, but in terms of instrumentation in real life, it's feet and kts. Please make this easier. Thanks.
Re: Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
I support the ability to input start, finish altitudes in feet or metres in the task waypoint properties dialog box, and also in the Penalty Zone property settings, when the user is set either in Imperial or Australian units. Although Canada switched to metric measurement in 1975 in theory , any one over the age of 55 was educated in the imperial measurement system. Our brains still convert, when accuracy is required a calculator is required. i really don't like pre launch recalculation.
Re: Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
I want this feature too.
Re: Heights in task waypoint property box - request Imperial measurements
A little over two years, and I'd still like Imperial units in the task waypoint property boxes, and for penalty zones, please. It will make making tasks a little easier - I have 128 submitted tasks in Condor 2 so far. Having both Metric and Imperial would also be acceptable.
