FPLCheck (V1.6): flight plan checker

BTW: small improvement. What about smthng like: Choose already made fpl to be treated as reference for DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl (So it would import all settings from given fpl). Just an idea...

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
Sorry about that.
Until I fix it later this morning, please use the link on the French page, that one works
That's just what I meant by "minor"BTW: small improvement.

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
Fixed, but the host is currently down
This would allow just for strict equalities (same everything) , not inequities or lists of values forbiddenBTW: small improvement. What about smthng like: Choose already made fpl to be treated as reference for DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl (So it would import all settings from given fpl). Just an idea...
How about turnpoints : how do you deal different numbers with min/max altitudes ?
IMHO a graphical difference tool like Compare it ! could to the trick as efficiently, even more because you can do selective file merges :
.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
Y, I use such compare tool (from TC), but it check just two files at time. I'd like to use your tool to confront all fpls for contest (which have same settings).
BTW - By small improvement I meant my proposition - not your update!

Those of course coudn't be strict compare as differ from task to task. How about turnpoints : how do you deal different numbers with min/max altitudes ?
Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
Then why don't you create a specific DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl by extracting the desired data from the reference fpl (the format is exactly the same)

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
Sure I can create it. And can extract manually and paste. Just thought DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl could be auto created from the reference fpl. Then why don't you create a specific DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl by extracting the desired data from the reference fpl (the format is exactly the same)
Well - or maybe COMP_CHECK.fpl (different to 'default' which is more flexible).
Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
How do you start FPLCheck ? Command line or mouse click ?

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
A new version (V1.1) is available: http://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.fr/#FPLCheck
A new wildcard has been added :
$ : used to identify all TPs except the start aerodrome (TP0) and the start (TP1) and finish (TPn-1, if Count=n)

A new version (V1.2) is available: http://condorutill.fr/index.php#FPLCheck
New wildcard character
% : used to identify the last TP before finish, if there is at least one TP between start and finish.

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
If one tries to type in the flight date in the flight planner, this may result in dates in the early AD centuries, which may cause DSHelper to abort the flight start because it considers the date invalid.
It is quite possible to check the flight date with FPLCheck, just add something like:
TaskDate>40000
in the DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl file
If you entered a very early date, it may be tedious to adjust it with the flight-planner calendar.
Just edit the FPL file and enter something like:
TaskDate=44000 (some day in June 2020)

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker
Hint:
If, in the .cup file, there is a TP co-located with the takeoff airfield and if that TP has been mistakenly selected instead of the airfield, Condor crashes at the start of the flight (it happened recently on a Tchin-tchin flight)
To be able to detect this, add "TPAirport0=1" in the DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl file

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker (Version 1.4)
Version 1.4 is available: http://condorutill.fr/index.php#FPLCheck
New features:
"?" wildcard : used to identify all TPs except the start aerodrome (TP0) and the start (TP1) and the last TP before finish (TPn-2) and the finish TP (TPn-1, if Count=n)
TaskDate=TODAY : self explanatory, I guess

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker (Version 1.4)
I am getting an error - 16 invalid lines....
Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker (Version 1.4)
Please send the FPLCheck.log logfile and your FPL file and the rules file (default = DEFAULT_CHECK.fpl) to the mail address that you can find in the README file

Re: FPLCheck: flight plan checker (Version 1.4)
Sorry. I was an idiot. Everything works as it should.
However I have a suggestion if you are still willing to improve this already useful app.
It is nice to see how many differences there are compared to what is the DEFAULT.fpl but it would be even greater if there was a possibility to 'fix' all the differences and replace values in the selected fpl file with the values specified in the DEFAULT.fpl.
For example if someone prepares tasks for a competition and wants all NOTAM settings to be the same, one could create a task without even looking at the notam tab in condor and after creating a task one could just use fpl checker to set all notam options to the ones set in DEFAULT.fpl.
I find that almost every time I do new task I have to change sector types, sector radii, lengths of the start and finish line etc. New functionality that I am proposing would take care of that and would make making new tasks way easier.
