The arrowed new yaw indicator on the AH looks GREAT! And do I see a yellow triangle on the aircraft attitude indicator as well. Such magic....

Choice of colour would be nice, but not essential.
How about something like that ?

I'm flying Condor now with a set of moderately priced rudders, and I find the yaw string barely moves in the JS1 and Ventus 3 - and I don't think I am THAT good a pilot!!!!!
I also have rather basic rudder pedals and I have no problem moving the yawstring in the JS1. Have you checked that:
- the rudder pedals are calibrated (in Windows) ?
- auto-rudder is disabled ?
- ratio allows for full deflection of the rudder ?

That one is even better, Bre901!

I have detuned the rudder curve slightly as I found it a little too sensitive. So I have set it where I get good control in the air and on the ground, but the yaw string doesn't move as much as I would expect. The rudder is still strong enough to overpower the ailerons and stop a true slideslip from developing.

My rudder setting is enough to get the "slipping wind noise" quite easily, and I have auto rudder off. I will experiment further when I get back home in a few days.

Cheers
John

Unless you are spinning, the yawstring deflection angle usually remains below 50% of maximum deflection

Is anyone else finding that it takes a long time to update the flaps? It seems like quite the delay compared to airspeed.

V2.2 beta

Post by Bre901 » Mon Sep 14, 2020 2:50 pm

Version 2.2 Beta is available for testing

New functionalities:
-Artificial horizon : "standard" mode (for IFR pilots  )
-G meter
-Slip indicator on the AH
-Real-time wind display on the AH
-Netto integrator
-Water-ballast may be displayed even if empty
-VNE alarm may be disabled/enabled during flight
-Auto-update (optional)

If you are already a CoTASA user and you have some software testing experience and you are willing to spend some time testing the new functionalities (and that the old ones still work), please contact me by PM, your help would be greatly appreciated

Edited to add that my "Sent Messages" box is full (and I can't move or delete any message), so please contact me via the mail address that can be found in the "Support" section of the CoTASA manual

Following a request by some users, I'm currently working on an extra feature: a task timer, which would be easy to start, but more difficult to stop and reset (however needed if you decide to restart the task)
Possible options are:
- hit the attached key twice
- use a multiple combination like CTRL+SHIFT+key

Besides that, a wall clock would also be possible (IMHO the Breitling wristwatch is too often in a bad position in the field of view)

Your opinion and comments are welcome

Following the release of Hangar Update 15, I have updated the glider data for CoTASA, they are available for download
http://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.fr/
No need to update CoTASA
Search for "Glider data" below the CoTASA icon, download the file and unzip it in the Settings folder

Hi Marc

Yes many thanks - I will enjoy testing this - hopefully not to destruction.

Looking forward to not accidentally turning off my task timer every other flight :-).

Regards
Steve

I need more information.

Please send the CoTASA.ini, Logfile.txt and controls.ini (in the Condor\Pilots\YOUR_PILOT_NAME folder) files to the address that is in the SUPPORT chapter in the manual
