CoTaCo (V4.2.2): Task converter for XCSoar, LK8000 & SeeYou
Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar
I have the same XCSoar version and I have no problem reading the .tsk files (and, as far as I know, nobody but you has this problem).
To my knowledge the .tsk files have been the XCSoar default format for years (and it is the one used to save tasks).
To load a task go to Nav / Tasks / Tools(wrench icon) / Browse
If this doesn't help, may I suggest that you read the XCSoar manual.

Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Tnx Bre091, works if manualy load, not by default with Condor.prf
Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar
It works automatically if you select the option to create a default.tsk file in CoTaCo.ini

Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Tnx, now working. Create condor.prf and default.tsk files and it's OK now
Tnx again

Wow! My requests!
TYVM Marc!
Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar
A bug has been detected ... in XCSoar
The "start max. height margin" is correctly read in the profile file and can been seen in the "Config/System/Task Defaults/Task Rules" tab, but it is just ignored.
As a workaround, the margin is just added to the "start max. height" value in the .tsk file
Beta 2 is on the drive : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GnfOhu ... sp=sharing

Version 3.1 is now available on the webpage : https://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.fr/index.html
New functionalities :
- AAT for LK8000
- start height margin (XCSoar & LK8000)

Thanks again to all the beta-testers !
If you had installed a beta version, it is recommended to update to the final version as some last minute bugs have been fixed.

Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Version 3.2 is now available on the webpage : https://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.f ... tml#CoTaCo
New functionalities :
- Autoload mode if the Condor flightplan is specified in the .ini file
- Option to wait for the current flightplan to be updated, allowing to start CoTaCo from a batch script before Condor starts
- Optional AAT auto-detect
- Silent mode
- Workaround a LK8000 problem : rename duplicate TP names (usually happens if the tasksetter was lazy and has left several turning points named "NewTP")
Many thanks again to all the beta-testers !
As this version fixes some minor bugs and features an updated manual, updating is recommended, even if you don't need the new functionalities

Re: CoTaCo (V33beta): Yet another task converter for XCSoar
New feature : the final popup window (if not silent) is now opened after the execution of the transfer script (if any) instead of before.
This means that, if the "wait" mode is active and Condor is in full screen emulation, the task file will be transferred to the external device as soon as you click [Start flight] and not only after Condor has completed startup
Download link unchanged (see above post)

Re: CoTaCo (V33beta): Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Thank you very much for this useful tool!
But may I have one request, could you remove the height limit for task start line in XCSoar?
This is because in Condor it is possible to start the task up the top of the start sector, but in XCSoar it will only start the task when crossing the line. What often happens is that I will dive down below the max start altitude before crossing the line, then pull up again as soon as I have been below max start altitude. I will then be above max start altitude when I reach the line a few seconds later. This will start the task in Condor, but XCSoar won't register the start since I'm above max start altitude when crossing the line.
Apart from possibly avoiding a few false starts in XCSoar I don't see any reason to have this limit implemented there. However, having the altitude limit as part of the waypoint name is useful information!

Martin - simple add start height margin for XCS: can remove stupid cases like CondorPDA started - XCS missed the start line

Re: CoTaCo (V33beta): Yet another task converter for XCSoar
You can also specify a start height margin that will be added to the start max altitude written to the .tsk file (Version 3.1 and above)arneh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 4:46 pmThank you very much for this useful tool!

In the CoTaCo.ini file:
Code: Select all
# Height margin for max start altitude (m)
Start height margin=100

Thanks a lot, it seems you already had a solution for this
