CoTaCo (V4.2.2): Task converter for XCSoar, LK8000 & SeeYou
CoTaCo (V4.2.2): Task converter for XCSoar, LK8000 & SeeYou
I am in the process of finalizing a beta version of a task converter (which does just that) which manages both C1 and C2 without having to tinker with anything.
Besides a (basic) GUI, it also works in drag-and-drop mode or in command line mode.
Maximum departure and minimum finish altitudes are correctly written to the .tsk file
I am looking for volunteers to do some tests, please send me a PM if you are interested

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar - beta-testers wanted
The beta-test phase is over, the pre-release has been sent to the testers.
Version V1.0 should be available in the coming days

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Version 1.0 of the COndor TAsk COnverter (CoTaCo) is now available for download
Until a hosting solution is available, download the ZIP file from my Google drive :
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XDIhF ... fJb6Z5cGfH
To verify the integrity, open it with 7-Zip. CRC should be 94FC030B
Uncompress the ZIP file in the desired folder and read the README.txt file
NOTE : In order to run, this software requires a Condor library (NaviCon.dll), which is NOT INCLUDED in the distribution package. Please follow the instructions in the README.txt file.
Comments are welcome
NOTE for beta-testers (whom I thank) :
version 1.0 is not different from the pre-release (except for version number) you can safely continue to use it.

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Having just downloaded and briefly tested it, I can vouch that in comparison to Condor2Nav it is amazingly simple to setup and use.
I had suffered the 'geographical coordinates problem' with Condor2Nav and Navicon.dll and was about to give up on my XCsoar PDA, until this came along.
A truly great addition to the Condor 'family of addons'
Well done Marc!

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Do you have plans to also convert the Condor.txt Airspace file?

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar

Works nicely! Thanks.
Though, I tried a Omarama_NZ and XCSoar never did show the task correctly. Something to do with it being south of the equator? This is what was generated:

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar
It looks like you've got bitten by the southern hemisphere "bug" : viewtopic.php?f=29&t=17952&p=155324#p155298
If it is so, the workaround is mentionned in the README.txt :
As Omarama_NZ is a Version 1 landscape, you should replace temporarily NaviCon.dll with the one that comes with Condor 1.15- for southern hemisphere tasks, you must use the NaviCon.dll corresponding to the Condor version of the task.

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar
I had not, but as one of the beta-testers suggested that I include support for AATs that could make a nice version 2 (in the coming months)
Besides that, someone has tried converting a flight plan in which there are very non-standard turnpoints (180 degrees, neither start nor finish) .
As I hadn't thought anyone would even consider using such TPs, they are not supported in V1.0
However there is a warning message in the console window and the TP is converted to a symmetrical quadrant whose radius is set to 9999 m (which can be corrected by hand in the .tsk file).
I have taken a look and implementing that would not be a big deal, hence my question :
Does anyone feel an urge to use such TPs or can the correction wait until V2 ?

Re: Yet another task converter for XCSoar
Cool tool!
Coordinates match now in SouthernNorway4
However, the max start height was 1800m in C2 fpl, and converted to only 1700m in xcsoar .tsk .
