That's curious: Avast sees nothing

Would that be because the code starts an external script ?

Would seem to be a false positive, VirusTotal came back completely clear, although Windows antivirus on my PC did detect it. Probably is just a heuristic thing getting a little picky.

Hmmmm. Interesting. I just tried downloading it again and got the same Virus Warning. Perhaps it is something to do with it being downloaded via Google Drive? Can you try emailing it to me or OneDrive or DropBox, and I will see if that isolates the issue. Maybe a standard .zip file may be better?

Here is the warning:-
Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml

This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

I now understand it's the .7z file that has issues ?
I had submitted the .exe to MS

The previous zip file had been zipped with 7z
It's now compressed with the default windows app, same download link, please try again

Yet another LK8000 issue

Post by Bre901 » Thu Sep 30, 2021 3:23 pm

Another issue with LK8000 has been found: it only supports UTF-8 encoded task files (other encodings are not supported, although they are mentioned in the XML format specs)

Things are OK with CoTaCo generated files (encoded using Windows-1252 codepage, aka "ANSI" - same encoding as Condor) as long as the TP names don't contain any accentuated characters, otherwise LK8000 just ignores the task file ... without any error message, even in the RUNTIME.log file

CoTaCo now converts the task file to UTF-8 after writing it

Hi Marc,

That worked beautifully, thank you. No more bad task files when there are character accents in waypoint names in Condor!

Interestingly, I didn't get a false virus warning with the .7z file or the executable this time.

Cheers
John

CoTaCo V3.4 is now available on the webpage: https://condorutill.fr/

Last minute "bug" fix (XCSoar only) : if start max altitude is 10km, it is now written as 0 in the .tsk file (otherwise the thermal band display in XCSoar is unusable)

Many thanks to all the testers

These printouts are intended for debugging purposes, I wouldn't worry if the conversion works

Please could you send your CoTaCo.ini file to the mail address which is in the manual.
