[SBC2013] Claims

Post by Simicro » Wed Dec 05, 2012 12:03 am

All,

For a better legibility and follow-up, from now on all claims ***MUST*** be posted in this thread.

What is a claim? A claim is a request that can change the pilot's scoring.

Comments on the tasks and other matters must be posted in the Main thread http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopi ... 26&t=14657 or Competition days thread http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopi ... 26&t=14699

The moderators will split or merge messages as required to match this objective.

Hi,
PM1 - ASW22

during flight on 12.06 my pc went crazy and the view froze. However I managed to land the plane with autopilot, but could not turn condor off, therefore had to force close it. All info should be on the server, no need to count as crash??

Thanks

Hi,

You have to submit a ftr.

The rules say:
- To be scored, a pilot must upload his .ftr file on the Condor Club site before 01H30 UTC
- In case of a disconnection, the pilot must continue the task offline without any delay and upload his .ftr file on Condor Club website right after his finish
- Even outlanded or crashed, each pilot has to upload his .ftr file on the Condor Club site before 01H30 UTC
- Due to the big number of competitors, we have to apply the rules without any exception so .ftr files sent out of delay will be ignored and considered as missing and consequently the race will not be scored
- Any missing FTR or FTR wich don't indicate a normal end of flight (outlanding, end of circuit) will be considered as crash. It's up to the pilots to verify their hardware / configuration. As the pre-flight procedure in real somehow.
- A pilot disconnected from the server has to continue his flight without interruption, as if he were still connected. For obvious fairness reasons compared to the still connected pilots, the use of the 'Pause' Key is not allowed
- A pilot disconnected from the server has to upload his .ftr file to the Condor Club site WITHOUT ANY DELAY after the end of his flight, otherwise he will be considered as having used the Pause key abusively and will not be scored for that race
- A pilot disconnected from the server, and unable to upload any .ftr file after his flight, is considered as crashed as we have no way to prove it's not the case

Check the LastFlight.trk file, it has probably saved your last flight.

Downloading Flight Track??

Post by Jon8869 » Thu Dec 06, 2012 11:35 pm

Hi can anyone help an idiot?

I finish a task, exit flight, save flight track (with my own file name as prompted), then try to upload it on to the server, all I get is "initialising server please wait" - this is the second time I have been unable to upload a track - if somebody would tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be greatly obliged (I would attach the flight track attached to this but apparently the extension is not allowed)

Many thanks in advance,

CB (CN 53)

Thankyou EBD, for anybody else who might read this and is having the same problem, the quickest way to cure the issue is to use another browset (Firefox worked first time in my case).

I have read the rules, I know what they say. I don't want to get score for my distance, just to make it as outland not crash.
(checked the server info and it says - outland)
LastTrack.ftr is not from the same flight - I believe because I had to force close condor with windows task manager.

Thank You!

Hi Fronzee,
Penalties for crash have been removed. But this is an exceptional measure which will not necessarily be repeated each time you have a problem.
As specified in the rules, it is up to each pilot to make sure that their PC and Condor installation work properly (no crash to desktop, blue screen, etc.).

But then when I finally arrived at 3500m electricity failed and I don't have a laptop so I am not able to fly offline.
To organizers: Can you please give me no penalty points for that flight?
Hopefully next race will go better.

Merry christmas and happy newyear! :D

Hi T.Teuwen,

We are sorry to hear about the electricity failure.

Unfortunately it is not posssible to remove your penalty points because:

1) We cannot verify

2) If we make a positive answer, in the future anybody can invoke electricity failure

Sorry.

Hi, Condor just stopped and came up with a Blue screen saying floating point error. I have uploaded my flight track so you can see that I was still flying happily making good progress but it has scored me a crash. Please remove the crash and award points for distance flown.
Many thanks

John

I have never had a problem with my computer and condor before and have flown many hours.
