Day 41

What a fucking great task.
Did very well, all the way, until after the last TP. Every cloud died on me. If not on my arrival, then 1 km before. And I mean every one. I tried at least 5 or 6 of them. And after that, I was too low to try another one.
I turned the 2nd TP way before the others, and then the Gods turned against me. Bad timing
Just bad luck, I know. But I'm extra mad just because of this. Usually I fuck everything myself with bad tactic, or gambling too much Tonight I had really goooood flight, and Mother Nature punished me.
Don't punish me that way! I'm already ugly, I don't need this

hi all,
Day 41 was the 2nd flight for me on the SBC, but the greatest so far. Until 1st Turn Point I got stuck in a mountain, but somehow made it out by using a weak ridge. Once I turned TP1, I had a hard time climbing to cloud base, so I had to fly along the beach(45degrees off the course) but after finding a good thermal I managed to jump in the mountains. But after this, every cloud I tryied didn't work for me, so I got to 1100m when I had only 10km to turn point 2, and had only one choice, and that was the deadly weak ridge....
my avg vario said only +0.2m/s and it took awful long time to get to 1550m and head into the small gap on the ridge. I made it through, (my ASI read I think below 70km/h when I pulled hard on my discus2, good thing I dumped all my water before this ). and thought that after TP2, it would be a easy final glide to finish along a good ridge, but this wasn't the case. after I glide for 40-50km I was getting low, and the sun was also getting low. My friend in the same server Jicub (J3) was also getting low, and outlanded by the lake. The PDA told me I had to gain another 160m to get dinner at home, but couldn't and I ended up 4km before the finish line, in the complete darkness.
It was so dark I couldn't even see what speed I was flying or how high or anything, but the PDA was brighter than ever!!
My flight time was 4hours 33 minitutes
Anyways it was a very thrilling and fun flight for me!!
I really would like to participate in SBC09 if it would start.
Oh, and not to forget, it was very nice flying with you J3
PS
I paid the starting fee about 15hours ago, but I can't upload my IGC file, should I be patient or is there a problem??

I will have a look at your flight. Maybe you scratched the sector during the real start and SeeYou didn't recognized it.TimKuijpers wrote:I was happy to finish, and points were quite ok,
but this morning I found out I started too early (seeyou)
So it must have missed my real start.
My real speed (ftr) woud be 99.18km/h.
