ok I tell you how i see this sbc task...

I agree with you about the fact that is a bit boring to spend 1h20 in +0.8 to have the max start alt... but i was disturbing seeing that not everybody did it... no patience?, no wave? or you all wanted that i win maybe...
Ok boring prestart but after it the race truly start, as i said in game i'm not a mc cready expert (i never use solfart mode) so I fly first leg nearly full speed to have a maximum avg speed. I arrived TP2 under it... after that, i said to myself "now take maximum risk to keep a minimum of your crazy avg" so I did a suicidale run trying to reduce my wing span with trees to have a 15m...take a look on my igc...I finaly finished the task and I was really happy to see my name over some widely better pilot than me...

First time I'm in the 3 on a sbc day equal with a friend who was on other time zone.

I understand your feeling to have poor scoring but don't forget this is a game and tasksetters try to make interesting task and this one was...

I hate AAT and flatlandscapes but I don't cry when task is it.
Competition gliding is really various we all have to understand it. I think pleisure decrease when you take it to seriously...

Next time you find the task is boring, you have a cool key: ESC and the nightmare stop ...

SeeYou next one...

I don't think this was a nice task

I flew 50km in straight line with seen one thermal .. 0.5 so I think this was not the best task

Oh oh....

I didn't suggest that this task was boring, on the contrary, it was a nice task starting from ~2800 meters, at an unusual time of day.
Before the start it was clear, that those who found the wave and could start at 5000 meters, would have the best chance.
That's all.
I'm glad that only a few did that, otherwise everybody would have finished on a shared first place.

Except me.
I don't fly for points, and I couldn't care less about the score.
I fly for the fun, and starting at 2800 meters made it a challenging and exciting task, using what nature had to offer at such an early hour.
I didn't even look for the wave, because then I might have found it boring.

Problem was that getting into the wave was almost a miracle in itself. Many of us tried, to no avail. 50m of height made the difference we later found out :?

Well, its no fun to race, when you already know in advance that you have 2000m deficit at the start. And especially at the end of the season, where everyone is hoping for 930+ pts

This task was fine, I couldn't be bothered to climb in weak wave for over an hour and started at 3000m, which provided an interesting task from tp1 to tp2.

For those that had the patience to work the wave well done and congrats on your result.

Not everyone  , but I agree, if you are trying to improve your score at the end of the competition, you would be frustrated.
Therefore my plea for a maximum start altitude.
The character of day 39 would have been entirely different and even more exciting if there would have been a max start altitude of, let's say, 500 meters instead of 5000.

I propose an unofficial "Day 39 refly", just for fun.
Same task, same time, same weather, max start at 500 meters. :D
Anyone interested?

pfff, waves are boring.

anyone knows Nascar? circles, on and on?

dont know why tasksetter bothered with turnpoints. straight line would be great as well.

and bdw, whats with positions 68 on results page?

This was my first SBC flight and I found it a challange ..I was doing quite well till I decided to be clever and burnt off loads of height heading towards a range of hills off track which produced nothing and left me very low after rounding the first turn ,which then meant I landed out  (I still have not got used to how far the open class gliders can glide )

Anyhow even though I did'nt make it , I had good fun trying to work my way up to altitude at the start amongst other people . I just couldnt work out where the wave was even though I saw one glider up nice and high !
