Nicely done on day 38

Post by S. Hess » Sun Mar 09, 2008 9:58 pm

This was a very nicely written task. The conditions were almost completely blue, but that was offset by wide and strong thermals. The start gate opened relatively late in the day, but that was offset by the task being an AAT.

Very well written. You are doing a great job, SB team!!

I wish I could fly more often.

Thanks,

SH

I don't think this was a nice task

I flew 50km in straight line with seen one thermal .. 0.5 so I think this was not the best task :)

It was great task and what I enjoyed the most, the thermals were easy to find and their sources predictable.

Really really nice task :D

It was a nice flight, i know now that i can fly more than 200 km without clouds, but finish it did'nt pay a lot
But i have been disconnected a few mn before start time, so, i made my race alone. Nobody to show me the way (but i've never somebody to show me it, because they are always very far away )
My hopes was not very high for my first participation on SBC contest, i just wanted to finish races, no crashes, and have an average of 600 pts, it will be hard, now ...

think day 38 was one of the days i will remeber as we (team Holland) where flying with a team of 8 persons (WW, GAR, TP, 3A, ZA, NX, XXX, 76) normaly, we all would go our own way, but since it was blue we all thought the same.

To bad we didn't manage to finish all at the same time.
Anyway, those 5 euro's are more than worth it ;-)

I've flown this day on the late server (registered at 19h45...)because of other game with card and friends. I had best final glide because i've finished this game chip leader...
It was late and i said to myself "you're lucky tonight let's paly this strange game which is AAT"...
Ok blue thermal, massiv condition, 15m gunship, nobody with me...
Few minutes later another pilot connect... cool
Gracias a este piloto de Arengtina. A mi me gusta hablar espanol.

Unfortunatly his "all in" strategy was fatal in a low alt point for him so my new spanish teacher left server...
I'had some pretty good Vz for a SBC and one of my best low point recovery ever.
I said to myself "I need all element to have a thermal" so I made a small outlanding-final-glide-all-in near a pueblo, a river, and little hill well solarised and I had my best thermal while i was 2m above ground at 80km/h...
few minutes later...
Image
after a stoned startegy i decided to stop flying like a tourist and i made some turns
Image
and decided to get final glide
Image
I arrived with some height because I had good cards on the end for hills.

It was a really nice sbc night for me. After watching results i can see that i've flown the longest track, it'wasn't my strategy but i can't remember what it was...

In Ls6 we trust

bye

Yes... we don't normally do that, to spread the risk, but this time we voted unanimously to enjoy this new scenery together.
And what a flight... and what a scenery.!
We even stretched our flight well over the 90 minutes T-Min for maximum satisfaction. :D

It wasn't until 20 minutes before join time started, after I saw the briefing, that I realised I didn't download the Czech Republic scenery yet.
Another of Milos' master pieces. :!:

I'm going back to press that "PayPal" button now. :D

One of the most, if not the most, wonderfull flight of SBC this season!
8 gliders together for over 2 hours, never seen that before.
I enjoyed the wonderfull view of 7 other gliders over this nice landscape.
Think positive, flaps negative.
