Badges and diplomas validation, controls are too strict???

Hi,

Several guys got some problems to validate their performance, my system has detected changes in flight plan parameters and because I would like that every one has exactly the same chance, the only change allowed is the plane model (within the defined class) and characteristic (water and skin).

Here are the common parameters used for badge and diploma:
- No thermal helpers
- Turnpoint helpers allowed (to compensate the lack of map, silver badge only)
- No PDA (silver badge only)
- No padlock view
- No external view
- No plane recovery
- No height recovery
- No mid-air collision recovery
- No penalty for cloud flying (take your responsibilities!)
- Start by aerotow (500 m) or winch.

Like for "Best-time", the system checks also if any parameter has been modified. One of recurrent problems is guys changing "delay before race start" or the delay before start window closes.
Because the weather can be different if you wait (ie a thermal appears near the runway after 10 min) and facilitate your start, I don't accept modification of these parameters too.
BUT, in multiplayer game, you can set Time to join limit from 1 minute to 1 hour, impacting the weather condition at start.

My question is: should I accept change in parameters to be more flexible? If yes, which one?

Thanks for your participation!
Thierry

I think the only thing is the regatta start problem. most of all doesn't like that because many guys are flying with me in the task but not for badget.
So can you set a start window?

When I did my RL silver distance I was briefed not to set off before I got to 3500 feet. From a winch launch I spent nearly an hour scratching around until the weather improved enough to get that high.

So if we wait around in RL to start, why not in Condor ? For the badges surely the objective is to complete the tasks and if that means waiting for a good thermal before starting, why not ?

I think the only way to ensure fairness and equal conditions for all who acchieve the badges is mantaining the things like they are now. I was one of the guys who, with no intetntion, tryed to fly in a mofified file. This happened because of my intention to use DSHelper (with my own automatic text and other things) but probably got a difference on the race time delay.

I'll try it probably this night with the unmodified file from the database.

I did exactly that yesterday. I downloaded the file from the db to get a fresh one. I overwrote my previous (with modified settings). Unfortunately, my file was not accepted, still have the delay before race start set to the previous value !? And this time I didn't change anything execpt the water load. And yes, I use the new file
