Only see blue sky in competition task replay

Post by M Pompian » Fri Jan 23, 2015 11:35 am

I'm still very new to Condor, and remember reading about some setting that
has to be addressed in order to see anything other than a blue sky when
attempting to fly against an archived competition. I cannot remember
what has to be done.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to fly against one of your own flight tracks? And if, did you experience the same effect?
Did you try to set the various views (F1-F9) while flying? Expecially F9 to toggle the replay view and the manual camera.
Are you sure that you are NOT in replay mode?
I sometimes experienced strange behaviour after having changed my controls (keyboard, mouse joystick). Sometimes initiliasing the joystick on Condor start does set something else than expected. Just check your controls in condor setup

Hope, I could help

Thank you Rainer,

I will go through your suggestions. I vaguely remember it being addressed by Thierry
in some thread, but I was very new. There was a bit of information overload at
the time, so I can't recall exactly where I had found it.

I appreciate your help, as I need to get a bit deeper into things before joining multiplayer.
I'm hoping that joining some race replays will answer the remaining "basic" questions.

Thanks again Rainer,

Whatever the problem was, it seems to have resolved itself. Now it's simply
learning how to fly against some very fast pilots (on replay)...

I think the most likely reason for your problem is that you assigned a view control to for example the slide control of a joystick.
This once happened to me.
I can also vaguely remember that a similar problem has been addressed in the forum: The air brakes are always open on Condor start, when their control had been assigned to a joystic slider.

Hmm,

I'm using TrackIR for View, and my (only) slider is assigned to Trim.
When the problem occurred, the view would change (I could see
a shift in color density,) but no horizon was visible. Also, my Airbrakes
are assigned to two keys on a button-box.

Perhaps it was a separate issue with TrackIR not getting re-initialized.
It will likely remain a mystery, as I haven't been able to duplicate the
problem so far.

If I can ever isolate it, I will update this thread.
