1) I do not know it too
2) peer-to-peer download and sharing file between computers, alternative way of download.
3) This is a alternative map for Condor PDA and task planner for this scenery. Is a possible replace original Alp map with this new one..

Hi Denis,

1) After selecting the flight and go into the game, you normally see glider pictures, in the new scenery you have without this patch a white screen.
Thats all, i think. It's a splash screen...

Viktor ... your two maps are superb ! I use them both for my flightplanner ... but I have got one question :

It seems that the lights source is positionned at the "Up-Left" corner of the map (which correspond to NorthWest obviously) ... why ?
It is not completly "natural" ... usualy we fly in the afternoon so light source should come fron SouthWest or even South.
Maybe you don't have that choice, have you ?

You are correct that the light source is positioned in the north-west corner. I played with different light directions in Photoshop, and I don't know why, but this one seems to work best. I also read that the upper-left light direction is the popular direction in cartography.

Hey guys! I have a problem, i can´t download the landscape. There is an error "no permisssion..." or something like that. I also try it on the speedbattle server. However, the traffic limit is reached.
Is there any possebility to get it?

Ok, there is a problem with this graphics set-up. It is fine for the general scenery, but when an airfield (and its associated objects) is in view the frame rate drops like a stone (from 20 down to 4), and artifacts appear all over the place. Away from airfields is fine. Standard scenery has very slight slow-down.
I can kind-of confirm this problem: when an airfield comes in sight in multiplayer the PC has a huge "hick-up"... but then continues with much lower framerate.

Athlon64 3000+, ATI 9700, WinXP SP2

Otherwise: the scenery is GREAT fun!
THX again... :D

I had already recommended a change wrt how are airfields done in current version to the Mosquito. He will try to correct it in his upcomming updates.

Scenery Problems

Post by Neil Harrison » Thu Mar 09, 2006 12:02 am

I'm having major problems with the new Alps scenery :( , Freeflight is
great but when on multiplayer it takes a long time to load and the
screen is always jumpy when another plane comes into view  . I have
tried different servers but it is still the same, however Slovenia
works perfectly on multiplayer, there just seems to be a problem with
the new scenery.

Can you please help?

Heyhep!

Just want to say a big "Thank you" for your scenery, Wolfgang. - Amazing! It must have been a lot of work. So I got only one word:

GOIL !!!

By the way,...if Mipmapping is at lower settings, the airport-bitmaps look's like squeezed. They need a higher MipMap-Detailsetting than the fields in Slowenia. ...as a hint,...that's all. :)

thanks!

The Airport textures will be updated in the first update, which should also reduce the hick-up when a field comes in sight...

Thanks a lot for your fantastic scenery ... !!! :D :D 8) :!:

Big, beautiful, very high points (3400 and 3500 m. quite often, 3600 m. in some points and finaly a summit at more than 3800m.), lots of mountains and deep valleys everywhere, nice textures ... etc ...
For a "Beta" scenery ... thats more than a success !

One question though :

- finaly, i mean by the end, how many more airefield do you plan to introduce (for instance we need one not too far from the highest mountain to be able to visit it quickly) ?

Thanks again,
CU over Austria ! ;)

thank you!

i'm planning severall airfields, but iÄm not sure which ones.
One is for sure - Samedan will be added. This should give the player the opportunity to start directly in the high mountains! :)

Post by X1 » Thu Mar 09, 2006 9:12 am

hi

thx for this great work - its cool to fly over this places known from RL :-)

is it too much work to make some airfilds like mauterndorf/lienz/bozen/innsbruck in a "beta" version - just a runway - without buildings and other stuff ?? only for starting a task?

greetings and thx again and again and again
