SEEYOU-PDA-USB SETUP

Post by skyrail » Mon Mar 31, 2008 1:21 am

I have configuration info for pilots trying to set up SEEYOU MOBILE connected to Condor NMEA output via serial Bluetooth:

PDA is IPAQ 4700
BT USB is Iogear GBU221.

Follow these instructions and I bet you'll get her to work on any PDA that has BT.

1)Serial Port: Iogear USB bluetooth: Follow instructions to install drivers.

2) Reboot: then plug in USB Iogear BT dongle into USB port.

3) Start BT connection wizard and pair desktop and PDA. (make sure your PDA BT is on and broadcasting.

4) PDA: Go to PDA settings,,, then connections,,, then bluetooth general, then services,,,then touch serial port icon, below are service settings, make sure all are checked,,,,,,,,,,then click on "advanced" box,,,,,,,,you will then be shown your ports numbers,,,,,,,the one that counts is "inboard COM port, write down the number. close and disconnect BT from Desktop.

5)left click on the BT icon in the windows task bar (lower rt. corner monitor)

6)Click on "advanced configuration", then click "local services" tab and delete any com ports that are set up under that tab. Close tab

7)Click on "Client applications" tab and delete any BT serial port comport
Create a new com port by clicking "add Com port" button at the bottom.
make sure the new com port number matches "inboard Com port #"
you wrote down in step 4. You can set the # from the drop down arrow.

8) Open Condor,,,, open menu,,,,, open inputs,,,,make sure serial icon is picked, open port settings,,,,,set the input NMEA com port number to match the step 4 number................close down Condor (save profile)

9) Start PDA and make your serial connection with desktop,,,,,then start SEEYOU (make sure that you loaded, via See You manager, the correct airspace that you are planning to fly in before you start SEEYOU) ,,,,,,then start condor

10) As soon as you start your flight, the NMEA transmits to SEEYOU via BT and your good to go!

Now the only crashes you will worry about are the ones cause by poor airmanship!
