Purchasing some hardware

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and new to gliding. I will be starting my gliding lessons here in about a month but I was informed by the instructor that using condor can really save time and money when learning. Basically the fact that I can run a specific maneuver 20+ times in the time it would take me to do one single flight. I know it is not substitute for the cockpit, but you all are very well aware how effective the lessons for condor can be.

Anyway I was looking at what to get and I currently own the recommended logitech joystick and I was planning to get the foot pedals.

In my search I saw that the saitech outperform the CH pedals, however the saitech are on backorder and selling for close to $300. I accidentally came across these t-rudder pedals that look very similar to what many of you have rigged up on your own. I know it's pricey, but I am not to shabby with coding and with welding to make my own pedals. I haven't found a how-to yet that is super in depth on the wiring/soldering and what you need to do in order to have it up and running.

Anyway let me know what you think of these pedals. They have great reviews.

I have no experience with the pedals you linked to but they look great. I have the saitek pedals but I've never really liked the plastic construction, even though they work fine as a control input.

Saitek seems to be having some serious problems. There was a story floating around flight sim boards that they were relocating the factory but other stories suggest they were in financial trouble. Considering the length of time that the products have been in such short supply I think the financial trouble story becomes much more likely. Even if you found Saitek controls in stock and at retail price, one would have to think twice about if the warranty is worth anything.

I think if I were in your situation I'd seriously consider the pedals you linked T-Rudder Mk IV. CH is also an option, but then you are back to plastic construction.

Those pedals indeed look nice. The movement is more like what gliders usually have. Rest your heels and use your toes...
The only problem is that their homepage is al in Russian...
