Own stock in Toshiba, do we, hmmm? :lol:

Seriously, I am going to get one. Just wanted be forewarned of any problems. (Other than me wanting to call the model 'Quasimodo'.)

It was a toss-up between an Ailenware Mx and the Toshiba. For me, the Toshiba is going to be about $200US less and has some extras that the Mx doesn't. As a side note, Dell, who owns Ailenware, has finally realized that Ailenware is a nitch product that they can't treat as a Dell. They have started to return the brand to what it once was. But for now, the Toshiba is a better value.

Any hopes to get a fix for the issue with nVidia + Win 7 64 soon? Should I downgrade to XP? Also, I can't find the errorlog.txt, for some reason condor is not writing it after crashing.

thx

It's there, it's just not where you'd expect to find it.

Path for errorlog in W7 is Localdrive: users: "usernamehere": appdata: local: virtualstore: programfiles(x86): condor

Allso you need to have "show hidden files, folder and drives" ticked in folder settings to see appdata folder, hope this helps to find the errorlog.

Installed P13.

I am seing some kind of slow (1-4 fps) screen-updates on occasions. I couldn't see any common reason for triggering these slow periodes.
Got around 10-15 of these when testing for 15 minuttes.

A quick push to F4 then back to F1 fixes it every time. That means it is flyable :D

Normal FPS lay around 90-110.

My system:
* Intel CPU, 8GB
* Nvidia 280GTX with driver 196.21
* W7-64bit

I checked for log-files, but none contained any interesting information as far as I could judge.

Did you have problems with the old condor version? If not enable the option "Use VB WRITEONLY". Do not enable this when you got the well known nvidia/win7 problems or you will get them again.

I had the old vertex-lock problem earlier. Tested with debug-exe

However, now I have flown on a couple of servers with P13.

I only experience my slow-fps drops on my first session.

My 2-3 latest connects/sessions have given me no drops in fps (to less than 10fps).

Strange :shock: ..... but as long as it works I am happy :wink:

I get a blue screen after about 10 min on Oahu HD off line. A 'GetMemory' (?) error. The Toshiba has an nVidia GTS30M with the current driver from Toshiba (v188.29). Win7-H.P. 64bit.

All registration keys accepted (Condor, PP1): Condor patches applied v1.1.1 throuth v1.1.3. Everything is good for about 10 min. the GTS360 has 1GB of dedicated GDDR5 and can use 2GB of shared system. I have a total of 4GB installed.

Seems as though graphics memory is not being released?

Errorlogs attached.

*** ETA: Maybe it's the scenery. I just flew one of the original Condor sceneries for an hour with no problems. Getting 60 to 80 consistant FPS. ***

GetMemory at 2:48:49 PM: Out of memory.
Can you try to monitor memory usage of your computer when you fly with condor?

Hi, hitzi. Sorry for the delay in answering. Life keeps getting in the way.

The nVidia GTS360M card has 1GB dedicated GDDR5 memory and can use up to 2GB of shared system memory. The driver is 188.29 and according to nVidia only Toshiba can issue driver updates as it is a 'laptop' card and is not a standard PC card. The Toshiba support site indicates that I have the most current.

I flew the Oahu HD twice, different courses, both times Condor errored with the GetMemory at 10 min. As I edit my original post, I flew one of the original included Condor tracks (Slovenia/Lesce 100 free) for just over an hour with no problem (60 to 90 FPS). And I did my best to hammer it (changing views, cycling the pda, anything I could think of.) I only got two instances of the triangle working symbol. And that was for maybe a second each. I'll try a different scenery after I finish this post.

All Condor graphic setting are at max. The VB is unchecked.

It may be that Flying Islander's Oahu HD is causing the memory hangup. I know that he has static hangliders and such scattered through out the scenery.

Any suggestions as to a memory trace/monitoring program? Or is there something in the nVidia control pannel that would do the same?

try to use beta driver for 300 series 197.25, your GPU is pretty new and I think it will be driver bug.

I found the problem, sort of. There are two versions of "Oahu HD". One is standard density (11.25M) and the other is 'Photorealistic' (1.41M). I can only fly 10 minutes of the 1.41 but I just spent 1h45m with the 11.25 with no problems, FPS were 50-90. The 1.41 is just too dense for my Toshiba.

I consider my blue screen problem solved. Thanks for all the help hitzi and Marek.
