Considering making my own Condor cockpit but cant find a good seat
Hello All,
As the title states I cant find a suitable seat to work with. I want one with a cutout between the legs for the stick to pass through. Or I am considering buying a mesh beach recliner and modifying it to allow the stick to protrude since its already a reclined position. So if anyone has built their own and has a good off the shelf seat I can buy I am all ears. Also considering off the shelf solutions like Just Soar and others. However I want to use my Microsoft FFB joystick with the stick and resistor mods which has me leaning toward making my own.
Thanks,
Marc

I am going in another direction with the cockpit and will be starting a new thread that us more relevant. See thread above.

Hello cloudbaseengineering
Here is my cockpit. It is simple, cheap and easily foldable. It takes 3 minutes exit and re-enter the glider from the hangar..
Notice that I fly in VR so I have no screen problem.
As you wanted I use a beach seat and a MS FFB2. I have a seat of this type :
https://www.avenue-de-la-plage.com/chai ... chere.html.
The cushion on the chair helps to be closer and higher. (and comfortable)
I had to modify slightly the base of the stick to go under the seat. I have also modified it to have a longer stick.
The other commands are a logitech rudder, a logitech quadrant for flaps and trim (and eventually engine) and a Thrustmaster T flight stick basis for the buttons and airbrakes.
The rudder and seat are linked by a simple string. I have read that you made the resistor mod on the ffb2. Are you satisfied whit it and have you got it for a long time without problems ?
regards
Jean-Luc

On the topic of the FFB2 resistor mod:
1. I have done the reverse of most, doubling the resistor value, halving the current, thus about halving the ffb force. I find that the std ffb forces are higher than in RL modern glass ship.
With a longer stick mod, at some lenght, increased ffb force may be justified.
2. As the current in my solution is lower, no longer term issues were to be expected, and indeed after 2 years, all is dandy.

Simple set up using an scrapped office chair and some plywood. Works well and simple to make.

I recommend LusoMotors seats.
They were designed specifically for glider sims:
If you are interested just contact LusoMotors owner on:
