The plans of my home cockpit glider
The plans of my home cockpit glider
Following a few requests on the plans of my cockpit glider demontable without screws please find attached the links for the plans.
I designed this cockpit so I could take it apart easily and take it with me quickly.
There are no screws, the assembly is done by checkmark.
I gave these 4 shots to a colleague who has a cnc to cut the wood, and this is done in plywood of 16mm (5/8 '').
the support for rudder is adjustable, the handle slides on an aluminum tube of 80mm (3 '').
I work with occulus rift, laptop RAZER

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
Thanks for sharing the plans. This is a brilliantly simple build.

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
Thank you, yes indeed very simple, dismountable and reassemblable in 15 min.
I modified the handle a bit because I equipped my simulator with a very good realistic trumaster hotas handle and the side controls which allows me to have a real grip of airbrakes as well as enough buttons for all the commands condor.

Brilliant plans, thanks for sharing
Is the dimensions in the dwg files or can you give me the bottom length and height of the side panel to calculate the scale?
Do you perhaps still have the sheet dimensions used? Length X Width

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
I used sheets of plywood 1220mm x 2438mm by 16mm thick (48''x96 '' x 5/8 '')
Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
Looks like birch plywood, not the cheapest one indeed, but very good stability

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
Here in Quebec we call it Russian plywood, and in principle it is cherry.
I actually took this type of panel because without varnish it keeps a beautiful appearance, even after several disassembly and reassembly, nothing is damaged.
For the wood I got it for 200 $ cad (4 sheets) or 130euro

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
I have some woodworking experience, never heard of "contreplaqué russe" on this side of the big pond

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
It is true that in France I had never heard of this and yet I worked with carpentry.
here sometimes we invent product names that make it more exotic ......
See this google link for russian plywood

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
Welcome...........
Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
Hi, This is a good plywood cockpit indeed.
But ¿Do you know the Akers Barnes design? The designers are australians, and it can be easily modified/adapted to reply an high performance glider cockpit position.

Here´s mine:
This cockpit is designed to use with a VR helmet. I use Valve Index HMD.
Goodbye and good flights

Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
It is possible to have the plans in PDF ?
Re: The plans of my home cockpit glider
The design files didn’t open. Can you repost the design specs and plans in a pdf or other common downloadable file format?
Much thanks for the info extra effort’s.
