Frame Rates

Post by peppers_machine » Mon Sep 18, 2006 8:33 pm

Hi y'all,

JJJ provided me with revised settings in an attempt to improve my frame rates. To an extent, these have worked and I'm now around 18-22 and I can cope with that.

However, what really drives the frame rate? Is it RAM, processor speed, graphics card or ????

can you post those settings? I have most of the time a framerate from around 10, and when it starts dropping under five I know it's almost game over.

tnx

It's a combination of those 3, plus: do not run things in Background that could interfere with Condor, like Windows Update, email clients, etc.

On an "adequate" XP or W2K machine, you need ~512MB of RAM, ~ 2GHz CPU, and a "decent" graphics card with 128MB onboard video RAM.
"Decent" is anything from a GeForce 4 class GPU or higher, although my deceased :( Geforce 3 GTi500 did >40 FPS.
