Learning tool

Post by GregNuspel » Mon Nov 14, 2005 9:32 am

Since part of Condor is a learning tool I was wondering if the winners form each day could try and provide a copy of their flight track and possibly a replay. This way we could use them to learn techniques and improve our own flying. :D

Some time "soon", everyone should be able to upload their own IGCs (and screenshots, results, reports,..) to the webserver, and they will be made public automatically.. give us some more time... there will be plenty of races to learn from :) until then of course, everyone is free to post them here if they like.

hmm.. I always thought you could open them in Condor as well, but apparently I was wrong. i use SeeYou.. maybe there are freeware alternatives ? If not.. I should probably ask for .FTR files to publish on the site. Or Uros.. can you include a IGC loader as well into Patch 6 :) ?

There is a free program called SOAR that can be used. It's not as advanced as SeeYou, but you can see the tracks and replay them.

Another program is Flight Display at: http://www.soaringpilotsoftware.com/FDpage.htm

There are probably others arround, but I know of these two. Personaly I use SeeYou and think it's the best, but of course it isn't free.

IGC load feature could indeed be added to Condor in one of the next patches.

Forgive my ignorance... but after playing online I noticed that the "save replay" button was always inactive... How can they provide a replay in they can not save it? Or... can they?

You're right a replay can't be saved from online tasks. The IGC files are good though.
