Yes, this is normal. If you have researched this you have no doubt seen this: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12538. It worked well for me. I had been using Bluetooth and thought it a bit slow so I went to the trouble of setting up the wifi connection. I found no difference and with Bluetooth I haven't the step of the .bat file to make a connection so I went back; it is more convenient to use with my Nexus 7.

AMAZING! Thank you. After fooling around too long with trying to set up a Bluetooth connection. I found this post/topic and was up and running Condor with a Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 in less than twenty minutes. Thank you.

Not all of the cheaper tablets (like the Galaxy Tab4 7") do support all Bluetooth profiles.
For instance, my new Samsung Galaxy Tab4 7" tablet misses support for the Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Profile) profile, which I think would have given the Bluetooth solution a chance.

There is a possibility to connect Condor and an Android device over USB, but that requires the "Android Debug Bridge" software.
I had a look at it, but don't like to go that road.

I went with Wifi, at least that's relatively simple and fast.

Hello,

I use Condor under Linux with Wine emulator: this method doesn't work in this conditions. Any other solution?

Thank you

Though I'm not using Wine to run Condor, this is what I do to use XCSoar on a tablet with Condor.

1) Download and configure VSPE ( http://www.eterlogic.com/Products.VSPE.html ). The 32-bit version works for this Two things to configure in it. First, create a virtual com port (I use COM2:). Then add a TCPIP server port whose input is the com port (I use port 4353).
2) Start up XCSoar on the tablet, config, device, and point it to the TCPIP address and port set up in VSPE.
3) In Condor, point the connection to the com port defined in VSPE.

Below is how I have VSPE set up.

I've yet to figure out how to get tasks uploaded to it using Condor2Nav.

How to convert a Flight plan (.fpl) from Condor Server and load into Android XCSoar:

This is how I do it under Windows.
There are no doubt better ways... :?

Connect the Tablet to the PC via USB
Join the Server and Save the flight plan
Exit the Server

On the PC, Run Condor2Nav.exe and specify the .fpl file just created as input
Press “Translate”
(Translated .fpl is stored on the Desktop in a folder named "TSK")
With the tablet still connected to USB, using the Windows “Telephone Assistant”, copy the Condor TSK file from the desktop TSK folder to the tablet’s XCSOAR directory.
Start XCSOAR
Press NAV/TSK and Load the Condor task
Configure Plane type
Configure Flight Ballast etc.

Now enter the Server again and fly.
Disconnect Tablet from PC or connect to a Power supply for a long running task
(XCSoar on the Tablet runs over WiFi)

Works perfectly.

Thanks. Took me a bit to get Condor2Nav working on the PC. Seems AA wasn't in the .csv file (I just added it).

Hello,

I tried to setup the link for NMEA data from Condor (Windows 10, 64-Bit) to XCsoar 6.8 on Android.

On the PC, the com2tcp.bat output reads
'Connect(1cc, IP-of-android:4353)

The XCsoar shows "Not connected" on the NMEA-connection page.
If I start a flight that changes to "No-data"

And that's about that happens.

Any suggestions anybody?

Thanks,

Wolfgang

I use VSPE to create a virtual com port, and then use that com port to create a tcp/ip server that xcsoar on android connect to.

Well, I guess this is obvious to everybody except myself:

NMEA export only works if the plane has PDA and 'allow PDA' is active.
So no way to use it with the ASK13?

Has anyone successfully tried to connect Condor with iGlide? What port does iGlide use? Which password do I have to enter at iGlide?

thx
David
