Tool for controlling XCSoar and LK8000

Here is an enhanced version of the common AutoHotKey script, that provides a user interface (versus having to code it yourself in AHK) to setup keys or joystick buttons/axes to control XCSoar or LK8000 without leaving Condor. https://github.com/ryanwoodie/XCSoar-LK8000-hotkeys Map joystick controls/...

Re: HP Reverb G2 - VR Setup Guide for Condor 2

Naoki, I did an update that should add fairly full support for LK8000: https://github.com/ryanwoodie/XCSoar-LK8000-hotkeys

Re: New Meta Quest 3 VR Headset

You have to use revive and steam. There are quite a few posts on this forum on how to set it up. I would not recommend it, however, it adds more layers into the system and it does not perform near as well in my experience. The link cable will be the easiest and most performant, otherwise use airlink...

Re: HP Reverb G2 - VR Setup Guide for Condor 2

Hi, ryanwoodie, I am very interested in your XCSoar-LK8000-hotkeys. When I use LK8000, what shall I set for Device model in the Device configuration? Instead that XCSoar needs xci file, LK8000 already has different kinds of keyboad assignment, such as Keyboad A/B/C or QWERTY KBRD. Naoki Naoki, I wi...

Re: HP Reverb G2 - VR Setup Guide for Condor 2

Here is a version that has a user interface to map keys, buttons or joystick hats/axis to control XCsoar.

Allows basically full interaction with XCsoar without leaving VR.

Re: New Meta Quest 3 VR Headset

I also wonder if my RTX2080TI will be able to run Qest 3. It runs Quest 2 at full resolution and 90Hz quite OK with MSAA supersampling x8. 2080TI is more than powerful enough. What CPU though?Even at highest settings my 2080 non-TI GPU is like 40% utilized. The problem is that Condor 2 is a single ...

Re: Impressions of VR with Meta Quest 2

Mas, when there are a lot of gliders in view, does it switch to asynchronous space warp and cut the FPS in half for you? Eg. from 90 to 45. My i5-8600 maxes out the single core when there are a lot of objects(gliders) and goes into ASW, meanwhile GPU (2080) is like 20% utilized. I really hope that C...

Re: Impressions of VR with Meta Quest 2

A couple years ago, there was a setting issue with Nvidia cards that caused constant stutter with Oculus Link and forced everyone to use Revive. This was fixed with Oculus link V27 software in March 2021. I believe most Quest 2 users (myself included) now run directly from Condor to Oculus Link (vs....

Re: Is RTX 2080TI good enough for C2 and Pimax 8KX?

Here is a review, where the reviewer also uses a 2080ti: https://youtu.be/ZhUelLCZTOU

Considering that Condor is one of the less demanding VR games, my guess is that it would run it OK, but maybe not quite max width/resolution.

Re: FAI World Series 2023 - CANADA - Unfair changing the task rules and not mentioning it in the briefing

Thanks Antoine and Witold for your generous words. I do apologize to everyone for contributing to the confusion on the handicaps with the commentary. I had assumed the task had changed to being handicapped based on the briefing, and did not realize/remember there were specific rules on handicaps tha...

Re: Tool to download multiple tracks/ghosts from Condor.Club

I've updated the tool a bit with (hopefully) clearer instructions, and have it auto-downloading even if the user has "Ask where to save each file before downloading" enabled (only in Chrome, though)

Re: Planning to move from Rift S to Quest 2 with a question

My official oculus C-to-C cable lets the battery die quickly
Is it the Link cable, or just the charger cable that comes with the Quest? I'm not sure if that makes a difference in charge rates or not... I'm using the USB-C port on my 2080 GPU.

Re: Planning to move from Rift S to Quest 2 with a question

depending on the USB-port, the Quest might not get enough power through the cable
For this reason, it is best to get a USB-C to USB-C (3.0+) cable. Even at full charge, my Quest 2 would die after a couple hours with a USB-A cable, but it stays charged with USB-C.

Re: Condor 3 feature requests

shifting the offline start-time would result in a different weather because the start-time also defines the seed-time My experience is that shifting the start-time doesn't change the weather, it only shifts the ghost position slightly so that it is a little (10 to 100m?) out of sync in position. I ...

Re: Tool to download multiple tracks/ghosts from Condor.Club

Gotcha, I assume then that you have your browser set to ask you where you want to save each file before downloading, rather than automatically downloading to a default folder? I didn't even think of that hiccup, as I haven't used a browser with a per-file save prompt for a long time. Personally, I'd...
