Re: How To connect XCSoar to Condor via Wifi

Possible useful note for Troubleshooting a Virtual Serial Port connection problem. Using a spare Ram mount on the PC desk, I’ve just fixed up my Sumsung Galaxy J5 and followed the excellent clear instructions in Condor Manual Appendix 5 for using XC Soar on the phone. It worked a treat, thanks Condo...

Re: Landscapes don't load

Hi Uros gave me a workaround for this problem back in September 2015. His suggestion was "Please try running Condor as administrator. Locate Condor.exe, right click, run as administrator." Unless I'm using the Flight School tab only, I have used this method for opening Condor ever since then, as it ...

Re: Landscapes don't load

Hi • I now consistently get an error message in the Free Flight tab which says “ Cannot create Landscapes\Slovenia\Slovenia.cup. ” (I don’t get this in the Flight School tab, which works fine). • This happens after clicking/Free Flight/Task/Load/Default Flightplan, and selecting a flightplan. For ex...

Re: Windows 8.1 joystick problems

Hi Having finally upgraded from XP to 8.1, I too have the problem that the Microsoft Sidewinder 2 works....but without force feedback or stick centring. So, I'm considering a replacement:- SPEEDLINK Black Widow SL-6640-SBK Joystick, sold by PC World for £30. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing-a...

Re: rudder pedals that rock?

Re the original post in this thread, I can't really understand the comment that pedals that slide backwards and forwards don't feel like real glider pedals: that's what glider rudder pedals do - you don't rock your feet on your heels as with a car accelerator. As ever, it just shows that it's diffe...

Re: First Impressions from Real Life ASK-21 Pilot

Steve Thanks for the explanation on TrackIR – Google sent me to the manufacturer’s demo, and that with the forum incl your earlier comments indicates what a useful bit of kit it is. I think eBay may be my next port of call. Point taken on setting up a customised landing circuit in Condor – I did thi...

Re: First Impressions from Real Life ASK-21 Pilot

Steve Thanks for your comments. The instructors made the same point that you have – you have to get used to flying the circuit by sight, especially if you want to aim for cross countries later, which I do. However, in the early days, you’ve got to do things at the right height, especially in RL, so ...

Re: First Impressions from Real Life ASK-21 Pilot

Interesting comments from K21 pilot on aerotows. Here's some more from another K21 pilot. I suspect from other comments in the Forum that the glider in the Flight School 'aerotow launching' tab is for some odd reason just more difficult to control. I've certainly found that, in a way that doesn't ap...

Re: Another Newbie – how to start competitions?

Oxo and Mark - thanks for quick reply. Always good when you don't have to fill in forms. A few supplementaries. What's an IP? Google found me an internet acronym dictionary and it didn't know. More important... 1 Is Slovenia 1.03 the standard scenery used in the Condor software that you buy? I could...

Another Newbie – how to start competitions?

Background – In RL, this year I’ve done 10 air experience/beginner flights at local club – brilliant – but due to work, outdoor gliding is going to have to wait 18 months to retirement – except for a week’s course next year…whoopee. So, have taken advantage of Condor flight school, which to me seems...

The user can create their own lessons. In the Flight School folder create a new folder called "Custom" If you save a flight you will have an option to save it as a "Replay". These replay files will be saved in the Condor "Replay" folder. Move the replay file from there to the Flight School\Custom f...

Condor Flight School - "Custom"

Hi I'm a learner who has spent quite a lot of time in Condor Flight School (beneficially I believe) but so far little in the air - hopefully more in next 3 months - itching to get airborne again. Condor Flight School has Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Acro and 'Custom', but the Manual appears to giv...

Joysticks - FFB or not

Thanks for your comments. That swings it, I will get a force feedback joystick. So far as use of trim is concerned, I suspect this will have to wait for my next round of R/L lessons next year, as the Condor 'Flight School' lessons don't appear to deal with this.

Joysticks

Can I go back to this thread on joysticks? I’m a beginner who bought Condor (and CH Pro pedals for a knockdown price on eBay) just before having some trial flights in the late summer – brilliant. The Condor ‘Flight School’ was really useful in getting the feel for manoeuvres, and the instructor aske...
