Re: The Alatus Ultralight glider, what do you think?

think yoy people have a bit strange attitude about glide ratio..
when i fly the ls 4 i have a glide of 1:40,
when i fly my gin bolero(PG) i have a glide of about 1:8,
but i prefer to fly the bolero...
understand what i mean?

Re: Could this be included in a future plane pack

well, isn't it sensible to get some rl pilots to try the handling, ie: send it for testing
to condor users that own the rl model.
I dont want to get a jantar that handles like something else, i want something realistic..

Re: Could this be included in a future plane pack

you have come to one of the most rapidly updated software in the world,
so i guess that should not be a problem.

x-plane and fsx is for simmers and 12 year old wanna be pilots....
condor is a good bit better, and is a good winter game for pilots.
might actually learn how to use the pda functions as well wich is good rl. :D

Re: thermaling with ballast (water)

yes, your almost there.. stick trim works like in the rl gliders that have stick trim, have you flown LS4 or other ls gliders rl? they have a handle on the stick wich when you pull it sets the trim to the stick posistion you have at the moment. nice system especially when thermalling, condor ...

Re: thermaling with ballast (water)

if you have checked the stick trim option, you have to push F12 at the trim you want, if you uncheck the sticktrim option, all gliders are trimmed the same, and
when you trim you should be able to see the setting in your view when operating.

Re: thermaling with ballast (water)

so reduce your ballast.try with 80 l first until you master that, and then increase as you get better.
losing thermals is frustrating, takes the fun away, and gives poor xc speed.
your circling way too fast

Re: thermaling with ballast (water)

when flying with full ballast you have to increase the speed in the turn, from about 90 km/h to 110 km/h in a standard class ship. that means the circle will be a lot wider. You have to practise flying with a good bank and steady speed, most say about 45 degrees bank, but in narrow thermals it might...

Re: Lack of trimmer range

yes, of course, but all the other gliders are possible to trim well forward. the pw5 can be trimmed to 130-140, the standard gliders to about 160, (without ballast) if you need more speed on autopilot just push the cg forward, or fly a flapped glider. as you describe it it seems you have a hardware ...

Re: Lack of trimmer range

ok, guess thats true, i've never flown older gliders like ask 13 so i dont know how they behave,
but in condor it's just a matter of using a bit stick pressure like you have to do in any glider
if you want to fly a bit faster than your trim.

Re: Lack of trimmer range

i think your elevator has to be set incorrect,
to check that put the elevator in neutral, trim neutral and zoom in with f.ex the F2 view, you should be able to see if the
elevator is in it's neutral posisiton.
trim is not a problem if the hardware is ok.
