Re: TCC :: Taupo Condor Competition :: 20 m Multi Seat | Jan. 6th - Feb. 24th, 2022

Indeed, Day1 was a good day. Due to the good weather the first 13 pilots out of 23 get over 900 points. Look at the picture with the point distribution. But don't expect such good weather for the next days.

Below points/positions with both indices.
Differences aren't big, but for sure IGC index gives the Arcus advantage.
Pit, with DAEC Index you get 942 pts, with IGC Index you get 886 pts. Difference of 66 pts aren't big?

Re: Glider handicap listing

If you multiply Duo index of 1.00 with the factor 113 you get the Condor Index (113). If you do the same with Arcus Index you get 118.65. That's not far away from Condor index of Arcus (120).

Re: MLCC :: Montluçon Condor Competition :: 15m Class (Nov. 11th - Dec. 16th)

Some Infos to my Flight on Day4 Thermals are weak but with high variation. Normally you can think about dropping some ballast, but the thermal width was very high. So you can circle with a low bank. Together with flats activity=high I decided to fly with full ballast. I also tried to fly under clou...

Re: Pilot ranking list - could we have something meaningful?

How is the case handled if a pilot does not upload his FTR (maybe he has a blue screen or he simply has a bad result)?

Re: NCC :: Norway Condor Competition :: Std Class (Sept. 16th - Nov. 4th)

Hi Kestrel_BY, in this race the turbulence was set to 'Moderate'. Most of the flights in Condor use this setting. With turbulence you must fly faster to keep a constant IAS. Maybe that the 'Thermal Strength Variation' (it was 'Very High') had some influence. If you fly too slow, you get into a stall...

Re: Pilot ranking list - could we have something meaningful?

BOD1 has made an excellent job, but I see a problem. Most pilots will of course optimize their ranking list value (that's the reason why it exists). The ranking list is based upon flight days. Let us assume a pilot is very succesful in tasks with strong and wide thermals with high activity. He regis...

Some remarks to Vmet and DeltaGN The statistics (see PIT's table) are created by the analyze tool SCI (ShowCondorIGC). It's freeware and you can download it here: https://virtualsoaring.eu/download This tool uses Vmet and DeltaGN. But what does it mean? Let us look at the datas of my flight (F9) wi...

Re: Pilot ranking list - could we have something meaningful?

Hi all, One problem are the differences between the competitions. We have one ore two very long contests with over 25 flight days and only about 15 days are scored. There are also short contests with about 10 flightdays and maybe 8 are scored. I think, the long competitions could be divided in two o...

Re: Out Of Series CC - Thursdays 20.00 CEST [18.00 UTC]

Hello PK6, what about your ballast? Did you dump some water on flight? This change your polar and make it difficult, to compare your flight. You write about your speed (mIAS). I think, a difference of +/-10 km/h has only a small influence on the performance (less than 1 %). But a great influence has...
