Re: Undocumented Features/Commands

Thanks for the information. As I mentioned, all other applications, including CoTASA produce sound to which ever default output I've set for sound settings in Windows. The sound disappears often after a pause of quarter of an hour or so, as mentioned by several others in this forum. The toggles I re...

Re: New vs. dissipating clouds

It seems that Condor flatland thermals are always columns. There is of course another type of thermal as described in many sources, that are basically bubbles that rise alone and not continuously like a plume. You can fly under or above a rising bubble and miss it. The bottom and top have the least ...

Undocumented Features/Commands

I have lost the sound in Condor 2. I had installed CoTASA and it worked fine and still has sound. So, probably it has altered any settings. But I know that it used the default sound channel in Windows. What caused the sound to disappear? I am sure there are many undocumented key combinations that do...

No Sound

Condor 2 on i7 10700, nVidia 3060, although this is probably not useful for debugging anyway. Problem: Works OK, most of the time, up to last night. Today, same setup, 18 hours later, no sound! Restarted Condor, restart the system, update Windows, switch output speakers...EVERY other software follow...

Re: Best Landscape to Learn about Waves

Thanks for your replies. and for supplying examples. I have found bits and pieces about waves in the forum, which is obviously not an educational center. The goal is to learn the theories about wave formation conditions and then go looking for the most obvious locations to test those ideas. It is ea...

Best Landscape to Learn about Waves

I've been trying to learn the physics of wave formations and am catching on slowly. But they are all using ideal conditions and scales are barely pertinent to real world of an inexperienced flyer. So, its a bit of a mystery to unravel. Meanwhile I've tried to setup weather in various landscapes to c...

Re: Key Licence / Too many computers

Same problem. I have bought several (four) computers with various graphics cards to test Condor. In my last and final machine I got the kick in the face. So, I bought a new license, and if the programmers or business managers figure out how to fix this, maybe, and maybe, I can convert my second lice...

Re: OpenXR Now That Oculus Requires Facebook Account?

https://flightsim.to/file/6768/discus-2b-glider Is MS wealthy enough to develop a powerful aerodynamic and robust atmospheric engine? I hear they are. But I prefer Condor to have an open platform VR. Not jumping yet, but I will have a chance to try MSFS at an experienced pilot friend sometime in June.

Re: Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 settings

Same issue here. You can feel the non-linear force in the three axes while not in Condor, but as soon as you start the flight, it become watery and little feel for the air resistance against any of the controls. The feedback remains visual, as with a non-force feedback joystick. I don't see any user...

Jittery Landscape

I have acquired a machine with i7 hex core and 32GB memory, and GeForce 1660S with 8GB of ram. I have a few occasions of jitter and tearing. It used to run much smoother in a low-key Microsoft Surface tablet with only 4GB system ram and a GPU that shared that memory. I am not sure whey the more robu...

Turn Point Rules / Properties

I have searched in the forums and can't find documentation for rules and restrictions about setting and successfully flying through a TP. I have tried various keywords, but haven't been successful.

A link to a document of page that describes those issues will be highly appreciated.

Re: Microsoft sidewinder - serial to USB

Update: The Rockfire adapter I bought on amazon only goes part way. Windows sees the joystick as a game pad (U-shaped hand held device), but not as a joystick and test doesn't respond to the axes properly. Probably not worth wasting time on this option. Best may be building an adapter from scratch. ...

Thanks to all for your responses. It is good to learn about the methods used in calculating paths. It will help setup flight plans more rationally.

Re: Bug in Landscape or Condor2?

Thanks for your reply. I get that. But I am curious as to why this happened. As I am interested to eventually create a few landscapes, I wonder if there are precautions about such events. I will try to change the wind specifications and see if it helps. None-the-less, it would be nice to know of the...

Bug in Landscape or Condor2?

I created a flight plan out of Salanche France in the Mt Blanc landscape (Jura_Mount-Blanc2). I asked for an air tow to +700 meters. After two turns the tow plane went straight into a mountain face. It disappeared, as I assume the tow plane is considered a geometric point, while it dragged me on and...
