Re: Condor error

I have experienced a few Condor task crashes but these seem to have become more common since the last AA2 patch, three yesterday, two before start of task. All seem to involve 'Draw thermals' just after a series of three ' Resize device initiated and Resized Buffers' messages. Log reads: Landscape r...

Recovering flight data after Condor task crash

Over the last few years I have experienced a number of Condor2 task crashes, all in the NVIDIA driver. Sometimes there is a LastTrack file covering most of the flight but, apart from the Log and Errorlog files the only other trace of the task is a FileStream.tmp in the replays folder. Is there any o...

Re: Turn point and finish altitude with Imperial units

I have checked again and the flight plan does show 1300, I was expecting higher as the properties show finish at 1400. I usually check the start and finish properties heights as they are often obscured by the other labels on the screen. The problem seems to be in the height reporting on the turn poi...

Re: Turn point and finish altitude with Imperial units

Altimeter is QNH, always use that for cross country. Task is https://www.condor.club/showtask/0/?id=19683 (Riders du far wave 02/11) , flight plan is on Condor.club under pilot Michael Sheppard (currently 17 on ranking list), last posted result. Analysis is: TURN POINTS Take off Sollieres (4,232 ft)...

Re: Turn point and finish altitude with Imperial units

The flight plan has finish as 1400m max (4593ft) and listed at 1400 max in the finish properties before task start, this is shown as 0-43 in the PDA finish, rounded down from 4593. The actual finish was 4265ft but this only shows when the flight track is uploaded to Condor.club, this translates as 1...

Re: Turn point and finish altitude with Imperial units

The flight plan has the finish height as 1400m, I was not expecting this to finish up as 1300m on the task.

Turn point and finish altitude with Imperial units

I have recently flown some of the Riders Du Far Wave tasks, they use finish and turn points at low maximum altitude. Latest example was 2nd Nov 2021 with airfield height on flp as 1290m and finish at 1400m, the airfield height is shown as 4232ft and the PDA shows the finish at 4300ft, rounded down f...

Re: Task with no PDA turnpoint photo restrictions.

I can confirm that fixing the TPPosZ values results in the expected turn-point photograph
behaviour.
This post should under the Condor Club index as it has turned out to be a flight plan error
but I am not aware of any way to move it other than delete and retype.

Aero-tow through terrain

I have noticed that aero-tow in the mountains sometimes involves flying close to terrain however, on some tasks, the tug likes to demonstrate its ability to fly through mountains requiring a very prompt release and terrain avoidance manoeuvre. On other occasions the tug seems to use inappropriate ro...

Re: Task with no PDA turnpoint photo restrictions.

The task that I was attempting is a shortened version of "Sallanches to Challes for Student pilots" for school class gliders, The Condor.club version has a misconfiguration of the start, first and third turn points with the TPPosZ height declared as 0 instead of the TP height on top of the ridge, ru...

Re: Task with no PDA turnpoint photo restrictions.

Think that I may have found the problem with this turn point. I suspect that the photo validity is computed from the geometry of the picture rather than the image of the turn point base and wing. For some unexplained reason the turn point base is declared at 0ft rather than top of ridge which requir...

Re: Task with no PDA turnpoint photo restrictions.

After 15 minuets attempting the turn point Condor suddenly accepted a photo,
there was just under 3 minuets left on the start gate. I have no idea why the
photo was more acceptable than the previous 20.

Task with no PDA turnpoint photo restrictions.

I am running a task on SG38 but Condor will not accept what looks like a valid turn point photograph. I have flown quit a few of these tasks in the past without any problem on the turn point photographs but now have a huge collection of this turn point. The start gate has not yet closed, is this a r...

Re: Condor error

Just run into this problem about 750km into a 1000km flight. I will be removing all unused keys from the keyboard map. Previously had problem with inadvertent activation of Q key. Think it might be time to add all required functions on to a panel and stop using the keyboard, too much chance of error...

Re: starting task with Stemme s12

Tried the S12 on the North Wales coastal ridge with onshore wind, very rough with Pegase, still some roughness but better. Problem with the S12 on ridges is visibility, ok if ridge is to port as running with nose into wind but impossible if ridge to starboard due to the bulk of the instrument panel ...
