Re: Condor 2 VR Crash after few minutes of flying

Try reducing visibility range and/or tree density, especially on large third party sceneries. Im guessing you are running out of 32 bit address space, which is already pretty close to the limits without VR. IF that solves it, I fear the only good solution will be a 64 bit port of condor. One day hop...

Re: Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 settings

Stick force simulation should be set too minimum. Setting this higher just slows down input to simulate your weak arms or heavy controls. Everything else is preference, I just kept the defaults except "stick trim where available" (has nothing to do with FFB, but gives you an analog control over trim...

Re: NMEA data stream unreliable?

The baudrate you select in xcsoar makes no difference. You can set it to 300 or 200K in a serial monitor or xcsoar, nothing changes. Condor is hardcoded to 1 Hz update frequency and afaik simulates 4800 baud. Selecting anything higher only impacts the communication between xcsoar and the com port em...

Re: cannot select the correcy yaw axes with vjoy

This has come up a few times with DIY arduino based controllers. For instance: https://www.condorsoaring.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18309 https://www.condorsoaring.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19075 There may be some useful information in those threads, especially about editing controls.ini ...

Re: NMEA data stream unreliable?

I forgot to say, to run it on the same PC, you need a local serial connector. com0com does that I believe, and you just dont run hub4com, but I havent used that in ages, I could be wrong. I use VSPE for that, and then connect directly to the COM port, but you may also be able to use VSP3 or hub4com ...

Re: NMEA data stream unreliable?

Thats odd. Ive used xcsoar on the same PC, on various phones and tablets, via bluetooth and wifi, with vspe and hw vps3 and never really had anything similar. Now NMEA data out is a slow. Something like once per second, so you cant really use the vario functions of xcsoar, but its perfectly fine for...

Re: NMEA data stream unreliable?

It works just fine. Im going to guess you did not disable the internal sensors of the tablet (in xcsoar device setup)? You are using xcsoar in "fly" mode rather than "sim" ?

Re: System requirements

Ive tested condor on my chinese sub 200 euro laptop (jumper ezbook pro 3), which has a similar GPU and a much slower CPU. Did it run? Well, yes. But dont get your hopes up flying larger sceneries than the one included, multiplayer will be a struggle and may very well result in the game crashing due ...

Re: PC locks after 10 minutes

Ive seen a few people have lock up issues using nVidia experience / shadowplay. Try removing it: https://asapguide.com/3-ways-to-disable-nvidia-geforce-experience-run-on-startup/ Just be to sure, I would also check temperatures of your gpu and cpu. Easiest tool for that is gpu-z: https://www.techpow...

Re: Virtual World Glider Aerobatic Championship _ Project

I think its still worth pursuing or at least thinking about how such a thing would work. I dont know the first thing about aerobatic competitions, or really aerobatic flying, but if there is an event, I can see myself and least a few other pilots giving it a try, even if just for a laugh initially a...

Re: UK Pilots - what unit do you use?

If it makes you feel any better; in mainland europe gliders use metric, but general aviation does not. So metars and notams are imperial for speeds and altitudes, but IIRC, distances may be metric. Instruments in cessna's are imperial. Im not even sure what they use in motorgliders, Im guessing impe...

Re: Spectator mode - love it!

I think including realtime vario information, and useful stick/trim/flap/airbrake positions for every pilot and at useful refresh rates would dramatically increase bandwidth requirements. Spectator mode is intended to have a birds eye view of the race, if you would like to be a passenger looking ove...

Re: CoTaCo : Yet another task converter for XCSoar

Seems to work ok now. Will test more, but some comments/questions already, as it took me a while to understand how to "automate" the loading of tasks and maps, and I may still not quite understand it, partially because Im no xcsoar expert, but perhaps the manual could be made a little more idiot pro...
