Re: From SeeYou / XCSoar / TopHat to Condor v2 tasks... ( ? ) [merged]

Bre,

I'll try this over the next couple days, I really need to get the turnpoints in my Condor landscape to more correctly match my club's local turnpoints.

Re: DSHelper

All, I'm kind of puzzled and need a little help. I've been running a server for many years (since the Condor 1 days). I do this every winter for my club mates and usually don't have any problem getting things going when the real flying stops. This year I have the server computer running with the lat...

Re: Newbie question

Just in case it wasn't quite clear: Be sure Condor program is closed before clicking JOIN on the serverlist. Also as noted, the first time you attempt to join a flight, the browser/OS should ask what program to use with the flight plan file that the server is sending you. If you don't answer correct...

Re: Hiding Pilot Body

Janey, Use the search function in the forum to look for TrackIR profiles. You have 6 degrees of freedom with the new version of Condor, and that can lead to ALL sorts of strange visual motions in Condor. I was able to slide sideways and look down! Acrophobia! if you're not familiar with the setting ...

Spectate! as a teaching tool

I'm really excited to try the Spectate! function with my XC students. While the environment is not a perfect representation of the real world, I can see where this will help. I often want to have a student "see" what I'm pointing at or using to make certain decisions. With the Spectate I can be the ...

Re: Satan's Sink

Philster57,

The hanging in the air is due to your local self hosting. Try hosting with the dedicated server or use the .start in chat to start the flight.

There are several .(dot) commands available in the server command list. Check the manual:

Appendix 2: Console commands

Re: Water, water, everywhere

I have another computer set up with the updater, and it seems to be working better there. Both are on the same network, wired connection, and the one that's working has a slower processor and less memory.

Go figure!?

Re: Water, water, everywhere

I have run the speed test, but I wasn't able to find a setting in the updater to specify which mirror it should use. I did download it and did a fresh install. I tried to get another landscape and it hung up at 6% for hours and I finally canceled the download. How do I tell the updater to use Mirror...

Another purpose of the sim is training. In a training environment the pause is invaluable.

Re: Water, water, everywhere

Except, as I have previously noted, the updater does not work for many people. I'm in the Pacific Northwest of the US and I have a very fast internet connection and computer, I worked in the tech industry for over 15 years and typically assemble my own systems. I'm not a newbie. I have NEVER been ab...
