Are there any other ways to edit the TR3 / TRN files than the landscape editor?
Ideally to allow a smaller/smoother mesh around airfields - but even if not, just some way to visualise in 3D without having to try to guess and load into Condor, realise that it doesn't look right, and go back to the drawing board.
The editor tool makes flattening an area easy enough, can even approximate a slope-ish, but it's nigh on impossible to then smooth it around the edges where it meets the original terrain.
Any other ways to amend the terrain heights?

Global Mapper has all the needed tools to do height corrections.
But you need to know how, and that's not always very simple.
