Importing forest maps - 'no files found'

Post by KipperUK » Sun Dec 30, 2018 1:03 pm

I have created some tile .bmp's (sXXXX.bmp) and (bXXXX.bmp), two colour, 24-bit, and tried all sizes from 4096, 2048, 1024, 512 and I simply cannot get the landscape editor to pull them into my scenery.

They are in the working/terragen/forestmaps folder.

What am I doing wrong?

The lack of clear documentation that I've found is making a difficult job almost impossible :( I've found the walkthrough document to create a simple scenery, but you can't deviate from its strict instructions because it only tells you WHAT to do and not WHY to do it, so it's difficult to understand what the landscape editor wants from me. Is there a better doc?

Once again; trial and error saved the day.

If you don't have s0000 and b0000 files, it won't do it - even if you don't want maps for those files; and want to do somewhere else - they have to be present for the editor to pick up that there are any files at all. After that, you don't seem to need them all, or in order.
