Landscape Editor x64 version

Post by m24tom » Fri Oct 19, 2018 1:03 am

It appears that LE does not really like very very large scenery files. I think this is because when loading a very large scenery it requires more virtual memory than a 32-bit program can handle.

I think it's a pretty simple re-compile to get an x64 version. Could we add that to the dev team's schedule?

Or does someone else have experience getting large sceneries to load?

As the thread topic has suggested there are some ideas for improvement of the Condor 2 Landscape Editor(ie 64 bit version).

Can I add some possible modifications/ideas for improvement:

Decimal/Fine adjustment to runway heading and object rotation.

The 'Save Landscape' command in File menu to automatically include a export of the 'Terrain hash' and 'Forest Hash'

Make the Object View button working.

I am sure other scenery designers may have other ideas/suggestions. Implement of the software change may not be as complex as the simulator but I do appreciate that it will add to the Condor 2 development list.

Is this feasible or even something that could be carried out by programming capable Condor users?

- In addition to "Decimal/Fine adjustment to runway heading and object rotation" I Would really appreciate to move a Runway Pix per Pix with Keyboard , or at least with mouse like an object...
- Adding TPs to Map in LE, since actual method to create the .CUP file is really boring for Creators.
And remove the limitation to 2048x2048 dds
Update the nvdxt.exe
