Help with Pyrenees 2

Post by szd55pilot » Tue Jul 17, 2018 9:42 pm

Hi,

I bought Condor 2 and downloaded the above scenery as I have flown from Santa Cilia.

No matter what order I install things in I cannot get any textures to display, just dull grey green with no detail. The order I tried last was: BP2.7z 405Mb, BP2 Textures, BP2 textures patch, Stopped to test here, same results as above, then tried adding BP2 HD Textures. Same result, dull grey green with zero detail. I have a high spec i7 8 threads, Geforce GTX970 4Gb. Please help as I really want to fly this scenery.

Many thanks
David

hello,
The correct order on CondorClub is :

You need first the the main BigPyrenees2 (406.9 Mio) file
Then the 4 Textures files ( textures part 1 on 4, to textures part 4 on 4 ).
You could stop here ! , you have the complete scenery with "2017" dds textures....
Th 6 HD textures files are optional ( only needed for a better rendering, they will overwrite the above "normal" textures, but not all !! only about 1000. that's why you need the 4 first SD files.
And finally the later "patch" who correct 's the LanscapeEditor problem with the Black Water spots in the dds.
The patch only concerns a few normal textures..since the HD textures where not done with the same tool.
PS: The Santa Cilia sector is in "textures part 3 on 4" https://www.condor-club.eu/mirror/0/;js ... -389435136

I removed existing folder. I did the above, no errors reported on unzip, textures replaced some existing from 406.9Mb file. Still scenery looks completely wrong, no detail at all....What do you suggest next please?

I can email a pic but for some reason, can't add as an attachment, maybe because not a jpg?

Many thanks
David

Does the textures folder of the scenery contain .dds files?

These files are the textures, if they are not there or corrupted then you will get no detail.

When unzipping it is best to manually copy and paste the .dds files into the texture folder.

I did unzip the main file in a temporary location and copy the folder structure into place.

OK

The Big Pyrenees folder structure should look like this:
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

That is not the right way to unzip an .7z file !!
you must right clic on the main or one of the for textures file
then chose "7-zip" and in next pop window : "Extract Files..."
Image

In next window chose your "Landscape " directory, in "Path mode" chose "Full pathnames" andthen "OK" button!

you must do this for all 5 files from Condor Club, since the path to the right folder is in the zipped Files.
again you must have 2017 files in "textures" folder.

Thank you for your help. I found the problem, it was due to some dud information that 7zip will chain together multiple files and unzip them as one. This is not the case with these scenery files.

So all is good. Thanks for posting your directory details, it helped me identify what was wrong.

Kind regards
David

Wow! Pyrenees just like I remember for real!!!

There were only a few sceneries that used this way of chaining files, but the CC is back to the old way now.
