Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
I've been working my way through the tutorial in the landscape guide after downloading the toolkit a few days ago.
I finally got to page 20 where we use the RawToTrn tool. It doesn't recognise .bil files in the "Load raw heightmap" window, so I can't proceed further.
Is the latest version of RawToTrn needing some other format?

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
You can rename the .bil file to .raw, and it should work.
Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
You don't have to rename anything, just type *.bil in the filename field and your BIL files will show up.

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
Thank you for the suggestions.
I have now been able to progress to apparently being able to test the landscape, but it doesn't show up in Condor 2.
I suspect I may have already been in error when I got to page 23 of the guide and started to use the CLT Landscape Editor. My scenery appeared all black with a yellow grid. A partial screen view is attached. I was able to put Armidale airport on, or so it seemed.

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
I've gone back to redo the tutorial using the same terrain to see if I could find an error.
At the Clipper stage I encountered the error message shown below. The Clipper process would not work. As I recall I think I may have encountered a similar message originally, but when I pressed OK it seemed to create a clipped file. I've now looked at the thumbnails of the files I created the first time I worked through in QGIS and discovered that the ArmidaleClipped.bil file created is all black.
So I think the error is occurring at the clipping stage.
Any insights for me please?

Finally overcome the problem and have progressed.
Apparently my file names were too long.

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
I have made several attempts to create a landscape and both times I got as far as the Landscape Editor and created an airport. It appeared in the editor view in the correct place and I saved the landscape.
When I start Condor 2, the landscape doesn't show.
The files in the Condor 2 Landscapes folder are as in screenshot.
What have I missed?

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
You need to make the landscape GlenInnes.ini file. Copy the one from the slovenia landscape and rename it

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
I managed to work out what the .ini file was and copied it and changed its name.
So now my GlenInnes scenery shows in Condor 2.
Trying to access it causes the following error message:
Earlier today I tried copying a .cup file but as I didn't have any success with it I removed it. Not sure whether or not that has caused a problem.
What is the significance of such a file?

Re: Landscape Guide - RawToTrn tool
You need to have a .cup file as well in your landscape folder. You can make an empty .txt file and then rename it to GlenInnes.cup

The waypoints are defined in the .cup file.
