South East UK2/3 Scenery for Condor 2

Post by Andy1248 » Tue Mar 20, 2018 11:05 am

I have converted the Condor 1 SEUK scenery to a Condor 2 version. It has been renamed 'South East UK2' and has been uploaded to Condor Club but is not yet available for download.

Until it is available on Condor Club you can download it from my Google drive:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Note; There is also a 32 bit PDA bmp patch for Scotland 3 there as well.

Hi Andy
For Tian Shan the AE map is still 24 bit. Blue screen.
Nice to have it

Sorry Tian Shan is not my scenery. However there is a patch on Condor Club with a corrected PDA map.

Hi John, sorry to hear about your download problems. I put the South East scenery on Google drive as Thierry was away. I get no feedback from Google drive on how many downloads or any errors there has been. However South East UK was released on Condor Club last night so alternative download is now possible. It also means the you can save your flights on CC. I am not aware of any problems with the Main file, can only assume that others have downloaded it OK.

Nice to hear from you again and I hope Nene Valley GC still going strong. As you know I left in 2014 and gave up full size gliding. I am also now retired and play a lot of golf!

I seem to be addicted to making Condor Scenery, not as well as the experts but a useable simple scenery (usually with a snag in it I.e. Rovie Farm).

UK Condor flyers meet on Tuesday's on the Beastly Server.

I am having problems as well. I have downloaded the files, but finish up with 5 files named SouthEastUK2.7z.001 to .005, and one SouthEastUK2.rar.
I have not been able to extract these. Any ideas please?

Where were they downloaded from? CC or my Google drive?

If from my Google drive you should have 7 files. If from Condor Club there will be 6.

The files should not have an .001 etc extension. So renaming the files to 'SouthEastUK2.7z' or 'SouthEastUK2.zip' should allow you to unzip them.
They can be unzipped individually and the contents moved to a correct file structure. There is a very good guide to installing scenery on CC here:

http://www.condor-club.eu/generic/240/

Hope this works for you.

Thanks Andy. I downloaded from CC. Re--naming was one of the things I tried, but it didn't work. I'll try again.

Still cannot get anywhere. Tried re-naming again, but Just get messages about cannot find archives, and cannot open the downloaded file. I'm no expert on unzipping, though done it for years. Right click, and browse to where you want it to go. Now all the GUI seem to have totally changed .Should the download names be as described, or has something gone wrong? Do I need to download again?

I have the same problem as Dave for both the South East UK 2 scenery as well as the Florida 2 scenery. I have tried re-downloading from CC as well as renaming to numerous different file extensions, such as .7z .zip .rar without any results. No matter what I try, the files appear corrupt and cannot be extracted.

Any help appreciated, but the files probably need to be re-uploaded to CC.

It would appear that Condor Club has created a 'Split Archive' for these download files.

To extract the scenery all the zip files need to downloaded first.

Then using 7zip extract file ending .001 and the rest of the archive will follow automatically until all files are unzipped.

This guide is from the Newcastle University IT Service web page:

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/itservice/file-dro ... ningfiles/

Recombining files

To recombine split files, double-click the first file in the sequence from within the 7-Zip interface. You can then select the file within the split-set and click 'Extract'.

Within the resulting dialogue box:
•select the directory into which you want to extract the file
•Click 'Ok'
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Wish I had known about just invoking 7z with just the .001 file. I was selecting all of them and then invoking 7z. Results are the same, just my way took a few seconds more time :(

Have downloaded all the files again, still cannot unzip. Changing the name doesn't help, get corrupt archive message. Spent too much time on this, giving up.
