South East UK2/3 Scenery for Condor 2
Re: South East UK2 Scenery for Condor 2
My advice with all scenery downloads is to download the files to a separate folder. Then unzip each one in that folder. The main scenery may have another folder of the same name in it, this is a common error and why you should not unzip to landscapes. Copy and paste each unzip to the main scenery, still within the separate folder. Check the contents of the main scenery that it is in the correct format and all the required files are there. The version can be checked by opening the ini file in a text editor.
Finally copy the checked main scenery folder from the separate folder to the landscape folder.
I never unzip straight into the landscape folder.

Re: South East UK2 Scenery for Condor 2
If you right-click on the patch file and then 7-zip/Open, you can see that the root folder of the archive is "South East UK2", which means it should definitely NOT be extracted to the Textures folder.
The standard of ALL recent CC archives is that they are rooted at the scene root folder, which means that they can (and should) be safely extracted to Condor2\Landscapes\
I have been doing that for months, never had a a single problem

Just a personnel preference of mine. I accept that there are other ways of doing it.

I am reworking this scenery and hoping to have a test version available soon. The final Condor Club version should be ready by the end of the year.

Re: South East UK2 Scenery for Condor 2
A test version (0.90) of South East UK3 is avaliable for download from my Google drive:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sjXds78tp2
Download is in 6 x 7zip archive files (.001 to .006, 5.88gb download).
Download all six files and then open the .001 with 7zip. The archive will then open into a "South East UK3" folder which can be copied and pasted to your Condor Landscapes folder. 18.9gb unzipped.
It has an accurate Thermal Map, Trees, Water effects and 3D modelled airfields (when completed will be 124 airfields). NOTE Ghosty - Not got Weston-on-the-Green in it yet but hope to include it.
I still have over 40 airfields still to model so will be some time before the scenery is available to download from Condor Club.
Until then anyone interested can download and try the test version. Any comments, errors or suggested improvements are welcome.
My thanks to Segui, Pat67 and WickID for use of some of their objects. Thanks also to OXO for making a lot of information and objects of UK airfields available to me.

Hi Andy,
A big thank you for this version of SE UK.
After a quick bit of local flying round Suffolk this evening, it looks good and will keep an eye out for anything unusual.
Thanks again for the update and look forward to the final release.

Re: South East UK2 Scenery for Condor 2
The suffolk area is what I am working on right now. So the test version will be a bit short of airfield detail. Thanks for your comments.

Re: South East UK2 Scenery for Condor 2
Thanks for the update.
I only had 10 minutes to check, but it is a lot more detailed, so thank you.
Local features like the 1000ft TV masts at Mendlesham (hopefully see attached) would be great, as those near Sudbury. Church spires also help and the one at Lavenham (BGA TP) welcome as well as a striped spire at Great Finborough.
There are also now four wind turbines at Eye (airfield) to the east of the A140 which are good visual markers.
Rougham has a good grass strip for power users and a WW2 control tower. There is also one at Lavenham on the old airfield there (landed out there when unable to get back). Another useful location is the ex-airfield at Great Ashfield where some of us have landed out having not been able to get home.
Will take a longer look over the next couple of days, but again thanks for taking time to update.
Cheers,
Darren
