Small petition:
Please look how many joined to servers A and B and

Sorry for this problem! Thank you for understanding and your help!

We'll start at 20.00 with 30 min jointime:

[C2] TCC D1 (A)
[C2] TCC D1 (B) (server will start with 30 sec delay)

And for latecomers server C, 30 min later:
[C2] TCC D1 (C) will be open since 20:30 till 21:00

Important Add to our Rules

In TaupoCC you can fly planes of the 18m class. The use of ASG29-18Es (with engine) is not allowed. Instead of this glider you can fly with the ASG29-18.

But it is allowed to fly every competion day with another 18m plane.

Hello!
CGR to the winners! And special to Tim for 2nd victory in a row!
Looks like Antares is very good choice! ;)

Results of Day 1 (without disconnected / crashed / missing ftrs):

TCCD1.png

Some pilots (those who didn't upload ftrs - missing ftrs policy) are wrongly marked as 'Task started, crashed' in c-c results. :/
I am sorry. Will try to fix it, with Thierry help I hope.

Due to problems with tugs and queue it makes, since Day 2 we will use 'Airborn' mode instead of tow...
Well - I am also fan of oldskool towing... Let's hope one of next patches will fix it definitely and 16 tugs will works as intended.

See you tomorrow and GL!

I have already pointed out problems with towing aircraft in this forum. For a larger number of competitors, 2 grid would be useful. I just don't know if it's technically possible. I know that Piotr and Helmuth are trying to get the most realistic approach to real competitions, but unfortunately the start from the air is too far away from reality. But as Piotr says, we have to wait and hope that there will be improvements in this matter. :D
Excuse my English, translator speaks for me.....

So, why not use the winch start? Closer to reality than airstart.

As always, it is a compromise. People with less time can connect late and start early. It is not necessary to climb with a full ballasted plane in moderate or weak lifts to start height.

I do like occasionally having massive tow starts; but doing airstarts instead, on a busy server that can save 40-60 minutes time, because you need to account for everyone being launched, having sufficient time to climb to altitude, possibly even needing a second tow, and then a long enough warmup time so that even the last person being towed up has the same opportunities as everyone else. Doing it that way may be more realistic than airstarts, but unless the task is also a realistic 3+ hour task (meaning 4+ hours spent on condor), Im not sure its worth it.

IRL, a competition day requires dedicating a full day (and a competition usually a week or so). Thats not what I think we want to simulate, and I dont think many competition pilots have trouble with tows or lose RL races because they could not get up to altitude to get a proper start. So its a bit like making everyone wait 20 minutes to fill up their ballast tanks or even to rig their planes. That would be more realistic, but does it really add anything ?
