[2.1.2] Flight planner bug "Access violation address" can't start game

Post by Aanne3 » Sat May 09, 2020 3:40 am

I get this error when starting a flight from flight planner:
Untitled.jpg

Mysteriously, Replay mode can start!
Flight School flights can start! (goes to loading screen)

The error happens whenever I start the 3d program from the flight planner (e.g. joining multiplayer server, free flight).

Steps to reproduce:
  • 1. press Start Flight (or whatever its called) from flight planner
I have a GTX 970. Same thing happening to this other guy with a GTX 980. We both have Oculus (but other people with Oculus said it's working fine & it happens if I disable the VR checkbox also. Somebody with GTX 6XX series said it's working fine for them. Error specific to 9XX hardware???

I attached dxdiag.txt output in doc format*.

I updated DirectX, updated graphics drivers. Tried different sceneries. Haven't tried reinstalling the program.

Was working fine before patch.

dev team plz fix lmao!1!!!!!!!!!!1111111

*because attaching .txt files is not allowed??

Delete or rename the Condor folder my mydocuments. Then recreate your pilot.

The culprit is pilot.ini

If you want to keep your logbooks and settings. Rename the MyDocuments/condor folder to something else.

Start condor and create a new pilot with your name and registration and stuff like that.

Copy everything from the renamed folder back to the newly created MyDocuments/Condor folder EXCEPT pilot.ini found in the renamed MyDocuments/Condor/Pilots/*yourpilotname* folder.

That should solve it without deleting all your settings and logbooks

If the culprit is pilot.ini is there not a solution to update it manually with some backup value?

Had several people with the same problem and this didn't work for them.

The thing that they have in common is that none of them has bought any extra planes. While everyone who has bought at least one plane does get in. Error occurs both in single and multiplayer.

Same problem here.
If I delete /Documents/Condor it works the first time Condor is open, then if i close and open Condor again the error comes back.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Condor, works fine with 2.0.6 then error is back if update to 2.1.2
I don't have any add on plane installed

Please fix !!!

Or offer us an add-on plane!

Just installed the new patch here and have the same problem. Have tried different sceneries and the same. Have re-installed both of the new patches, still the same. Will try installing the previous patches and/or complete condor again as well.

There has been some success with deleting documents\condor with condor still open, then restarting.

But this will lose your logbook etc.

so you could wait until we get a fix instead.

Copy the documents\condor folder before deleting it?

No success here, once a fresh /documents/Condor has been recreated it only works for the current session.
I have to configure new pilot and all settings at every game start to be able to enter flight

I've had the same problem after the upgrade. The sim will work under the tutorials section. But not in free flight. I see from the other posts a temporary fix is pretty easy. The Condor patch will be pretty quick looks like a simple problem reading the user data.

Same thing, I get the access violation error after restarting condor everytime. I have tried all the combinations of delete reinstal and advice I read here but nothing works.

Those experiencing that bug, please could you mention if you use the basic set of gliders or if you have purchased any extra plane.
