Re: Little something for LK8000 users
I've yet to figure out how to make the PC version communicate with Condor. I do have XCSoar working, but it would be nice to have a choice at times.
Re: Little something for LK8000 users
Maybe this will be helpful to anyone:
Condor works nicely with both LK800 and XCsoar running on Android phone when connected to the same Wifi - I followed instructions from last entry of this topic http://www.postfrontal.com/forum/topic. ... IC_ID=8526:
Works great and no cables needed
But I suspect witor's tool will work only with LK800 installed locally on the same PC as Condor.

Code: Select all
1. Install HW VSP3 - Virtual Serial Port.
http://new.hwg.cz/files/download/sw/version/hw-vsp3-single_3-1-2.exe
You can choose standalone installation (without Server/Client option)
2. PC and Android phone must be connected to same WiFi router
3. Note Android IP address (Goto WiFi settings and touch current WiFi network), e.g. 192.160.0.12
4. In LK8000 FLY mode go to Config 2/3 > LK8000 Setup > Device Setup > Device B:
Name: Condor
Port: TCPServer
Port: 4353 (note this number if different because you have to enter it into TCP Client in HW VSP3)
5. Start Condor, go to Setup > Options > NMEA Output and check number of the last existing COM port (e.g. COM9). Exit Condor.
6. Start HW VSP3, go to Virtual Serial Port tab and set:
Port name: COM12 (Choose COM number higher than the last existing one in step 5)
IP Address: Android IP on WiFi network (e.g. 192.168.0.12)
Port: 4353 (port from LK8000 device B configuration)
Click "Create COM", leave HW VSP3 window in the background.
7. Start Condor, in Setup > Options enable NMEA output and choose virtual com port (e.g. COM12 created in step 6)
8. Start flight!
But I suspect witor's tool will work only with LK800 installed locally on the same PC as Condor.
Re: Little something for LK8000 users
It's the step to set up LK8000 to connect to the TCPIP port. I can't find where to do that in LK8000.
Re: Little something for LK8000 users
In LK8000 6.1r: On the screen: Config 2/3 -> LK8000 Setup -> Device Setup
In "Name" field select "Condor" then in "Port" select TCPServer and in another "Port" field enter port number - like 4353.

Re: Little something for LK8000 users
Hi,
I'm looking to connect a moving map/soaring application to Condor 2 running on my PC. It can either be the LK or the XCSOAR application.
Can I just buy any recent 'cheap' android tablet and use it to connect one of these apps to condor 2 or are there specs to meet regarding OS,versions etc. ?
Thanks

Re: Little something for LK8000 users
Yes my tool will change files in the LK8000 folder on the Pc running LK and condor. You will need other means of synchronizing files with other (external) devices. I don't use external device so I have not tested it.
Re: Little something for LK8000 users
Works perfectly with XCSoar on an Android phone (I just had to make an educated guess about the COM port # as Condor 1 shows no port and the NMEA Tick-box is grayed before the COM port is created - 12 was OK)
Thanks a lot !
Thanks a lot !

Re: Little something for LK8000 users
And does this tool work with Condor 2 or is there a Condor22LK planned ?
Re: Little something for LK8000 users
It does work with condor 2, but you need to add polars for the new gliders. Just edit C2LKpolars.txt. I have added this to mine (Discus is not perfect as I made it with just one pilot in the cockpit)

Re: Little something for LK8000 users
If you need more glider data you can find them in the .xcp files that are available there :witor wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 8:08 pmIt does work with condor 2, but you need to add polars for the new gliders. ....
https://condorutill.pagesperso-orange.fr/index.html
for example for for the DuoDiscus (one pilot)
Registration=""
CompetitionID=""
Type="DuoDiscus"
Handicap="111"
PolarInformation="92.0000,-0.5544,146.0000,-1.2601,200.0000,-2.7266, "
PolarReferenceMass="500"
PolarDryMass="500"
MaxBallast="198"
DumpTime="198"
MaxSpeed="73.056"
WingArea="16.40"
If someone is interested, I could generate the C2LKpolars.txt file with the same tool I use for .xcp and .plr files (I have all the data needed, it's just a matter of formatting).

Re: Little something for LK8000 users
As I have developed a Condor->XCSoar converter, I sometimes get questions about converting tasks to LK8000, so I send people here.
The last one who tested it told me he couldn't make Condor2LK work
I tried it myself, I downloaded and opened the script with AHK and this is what I got :
As I didn't find any documentation, maybe I didn't use it correctly.
Is there something like a manual somewhere ?
Do you plan to maintain the tool ?
